Quip struggles with west a does west a have what it takes to be successful this year or just a bad game from the quips ?
Mike White
11:45
West A. must be pretty good. As I said, Quips have not dominated as much as some people think. But believe me, Aliquippa is still really good. West A must be pretty good also. I think everyone is waiting for that Central Valley-Quip game.

Just a follow up on Imani basketball Mike, yeh I can see why public schools get upset about transfers. Take Union, made it to WPIAL championship last year, have all 5 starters back and are in Imani’s section. And now Imani assembles a juggernaut. Tough to swallow if you’re Union.

Yes, read some of the above comments.

Mike does my Kiski area team get the win this Friday vs Indiana go Kiski
Mike White

Good lord, you again. The weekly Kiski Area question. I have no idea. But if they don't win this week, they're looking at possibly 0-10.

Good morning Mike.  A real "show me" moment for Butler this weekend as they host Seneca Valley.  We find out if the D-10 experiment has borne enough fruit for the Tornado to come home and compete in WPIAL 6A again.  Butler 4-1 against light competition so far.  How do you see this one going?
Mike White
11:50
I agree. It should be interesting. Leaving WPIAL in football has certainly helped Butler. They are 4-1 and are definitely better than their last year in WPIAL. I'll still take Seneca, though.

I've watched every Serra Catholic game this year...Burrell in 2a could be a sleeper...quietly 4-1 and gave serra a run a few weeks ago.  Their run heavy offense could give teams tons of trouble.  Serra couldnt stop them but their athletes took over and allowed them to push the game out of reach, Burrell controlled the first half and fumbled inside the 5 when they were poised to take the lead before halftime.  The Serra and Steel Valley game will be very interesting at end of year
Mike White
11:51
I would agree. Burrell better than a lot of people think. And I also agree that the Serra-Steel Valley game could be good. And speaking of Steel Valley, I say what about Ray Braszo for coach of the half year? The mature, crafty veteran has done great job there.

Thanks for the link to your 6A article, Mike. Solid analysis. Any word as to where the WPIAL plans to play the 6A title game? IMO, Norwin, albeit out of the way, was a great venue.
Mike White
11:52
Already been decided. 1A through 4A will be at Acrisure Friday Nov. 25. The 5A and 6A will at at Norwin on Saturday, Nov. 19.

Relax Mike. I know you're Lebo's biggest cheerleader. Calm down and take a joke. I wasn't being serious.
Mike White
11:54
What? Lebo's biggest fan? I know number of people who think a little differently. But yeah, you are correct. Secretly, I love Mt. Lebanon. I wish I went to school at Mt. Lebanon. I wish my kids went to Mt. Lebanon. I wish I lived in Mt. Lebanon. I wish I was superintendent of Mt. Lebanon. I wish I could have Bob Palko's job.

What is the deepest classification in your opinion? To me 5a anyone could beat anyone and 4a is very deep too. And in single A you have around 10 quality teams which, and in 2A you prolly have 5 contenders with not much separation
Mike White
11:54
No quest, 5A.

I know you’re not a huge fan of 1a but Bishop Canevin has struggled of late and In their 5 games 3 of them they were trailing at half. Fort cherry just gave OLSH a pretty decent game what do the rangers need to do upset bc
Mike White
11:54
Have freshman QB Matt Sieg have a gigantic game and stop big plays from Bishop Canevin.

Where are your favorite places to watch a game?  Not as much because of the teams playing but because of the atmosphere, food, parking, etc?

11:56
Ooops. Didn't finish. North Hills' Martorelli Stadium. The old  "Pit" at Aliquippa. Belle Vernon's stadium. I could go on. I'd say 4-5 others that are probably about the same.

Late log-in today but just wanted to commend you on the Anthony Chiccitt feature story last week. Well done sir, well done indeed.
Mike White
11:58
Well thank you very much WPIAL Lifer. That kid is amazing. I think his story is one of the best in college football this year. Heck, I think he's worth a feature on ESPN, especially if he does well. The kid is inspiring to me, too. I'm just fortunate he let me tell his story a few times. Thanks again for the kind words.

Mike Brown is Coach of the Half Year.
Mike White

He would have to be one of them.

TJ seems to be having a bit of a down year. Hear they have a lot of injuries. Hard to see them getting past Aliquippa or McKeesport.
Mike White
11:59
Yes, TJ has been banged up. This is not a great TJ team, even when healthy. But I guarantee you hardly no one wants to see them in playoffs. Especially if they get healthy.
Nope

Who is your least favorite fanbase ? Who is the coach or AD who was the most difficult to work with ?
Mike White

You really expect me to answer that in public? Sorry, would be just asking for problems.

If there is any championship rematches who are you taking and why sorry for the spelling mistakes in early questions
Mike White
12:01
I'd say the best shot is in Class 1A, Bishop Canevin and OLSH. I guess 2A possibly? That was Serra and Beaver Falls last year. But Steel Valley is really good. I don't see any other rematches.
12:02
Hey, that's about it. Good hour of conversation. Hey, Highlands Rams, I'll see you Friday. Be at your place for Mars vs. Highlands. Everyone, be good.
