yeah, the money thing is tacky for sue, but I still think the Board has a responsibility to tax payers not to leave money on the table without a vote

Maybe not the best way to put it. I think you wrap it in with some other improvements - press box perhaps? "Hey Aaron, we are making some improvements to the field where you made a name for yourself. Would you consider donating? We'd also like to name the field after you and honor you at halftime of the homecoming game if you can make it." My high school has a very successful and famous athletic alum who I know was one of the first calls when the school wanted to improve facilities related to the sports he played. He often gave, but preferred it be kept relatively quiet, so I am not sure if naming anything after him ever came up.

Sure, ask for money from prominent alumni. Buildings are named after people who make donations. But naming a field after one of your own ---- only if school gets 100 thousand. I'm sorry. I'm not on board with that one.

I do really like this Central Catholic team.  I've watched them for years and they've had plenty of D1 talent on other teams, but this team is disciplined, has strong on field leaders in Thompson and Black, and has great balance.  When I saw them against Bergen the disparity between Bergen's large receivers and Centrals was glaring.   Central has had much more talent at receiver in recent years, but their kids are catching the ball and making plays.  I think when you factor in both Black and Alexander being excellent receivers out of the backfield, it think it's a strong group collectively.  But most importantly, Herrick is crazy accurate hitting people in stride with zip,  He even looks to second and third options.  That's a step change in level from Strader and the other local teams I've seen Central play.  I think the key against Central is to make Herrick use his feet, but their pass blocking is very good.

Central has no holes at all. Nowhere. If there is, tell me. This is the best of Ryan Lehmeier's teams. Will they win the state? Surely it won't be easy if they play a Philly team again. Even Harrisburg is strong. But I go back to this. Central beat Bergen Catholic pretty good. Bergen Catholic beat St. Joe's Prep 33-3.

OK, enough for today. There's a piece of leftover quiche from the wonderful Mrs. White that has my name on it in the fridge. My wife told me if she puts my name on the quiche, she wants 5 grand for it. Hey, naming rights for food are valuable. Maybe I'll invite Art Walker over for a piece of the quiche also.
