Yep agree with all of you. Pine's OLine nowhere near as big or as good as last few years and RBs are OK. But they still keep blowing out a lot of teams. Should be mighty interesting.

I wonder if folks at Gateway think back about the decision to push Terry Smith out.  My goodness, that seems especially foolish in hindsight.    Given that, it's crazy to me that they haven't made a coaching change.     What's going on a Central Valley?  Lots of tradition and proven winner of a coach. Are they just a little down talent wise?

Yes, that was crazy years ago with what Gateway did to Terry Smith. But I think Terry was fine with leaving there and where he is done today. He's done pretty darn well for himself.

Enjoying your stories about best players at various positions since 2000. Just curious regarding receivers, who were top couple you would pick since you started covering HS sports before 2000?

Boy, what a great question. Racking my brain quickly. You know we don't produce many big time receivers around here. Guys turned out to be NFL receivers but didn't play postition in high school, like Tyler Boyd or Steve Breaston. But as far as receivers in high school before 2000, Reggie Williams at Beaver Falls went to Pitt I believe in 1985. I'm telling ya Perry of the City League's Darelle Porter was a tremendous high school receiver who went for hoops at Pitt. Jason Bender of North Hills saw fair share of time at receiver at Georgia Tech, while his twin brother became QB at NC State. Dan Prunzik of Mt. Lebanon I think had pretty solid career as receiver at Mt. Lebanon. But there weren't many from 1980 to 2000.
