Does wpial actually go and inspect these grass fields or do they take the home schools word for it? Not sure you’ve ever been but I don’t see how WG or Might Mikes’ fields can be in better shape than Rochy or Cornell’s.

Honestly I'm not sure about that. You don't know the story. Maybe the schools said their fields are in bad condition. Can't make a judgment on this unless you know full story.

Of course there is always a chance. It's not like NA is Avella and playing Mt. Lebanon. But I can't see it happening. And I still think it will be Central and Lebo in final and it will be a closer game than before.

Like I said, this is not a great Clairton team. But they are still my pick to win it. Canevin is a possibility, but so is Cornell and Rochester. The way Leechburg scores points at times, don't sleep on the Blue Devils.

So many failures at that hockey game, I understand don't punish the players, but maybe the message would be received by the Armstrong community and it won't ever happen again if they were made to forfeit

You really think Armstrong players and team would care if they had to forfeit one game? No way. Has to be something else done - and not to the players. I was just told by someone who knows that some Armstrong players came to the Mars goalkeeper and apologized after game.

As far as things I thought I would never see, I would say that Butler appearing on a PIAA 6A playoff bracket would have to be somewhere between the Loch Ness Monster and skimpy portions at DeLuca's.  Do you think that Butler football will ever return to the WPIAL or do they have too much of a sweetheart setup to ever want to leave the Erie league?

They aren't coming back any time soon. I just reported a few weeks ago that they are staying as associate member of District 10 for at least next two-year cycle. And really, it's not that surprising they have a chance to make PIAA tourney. I mean, there are only three teams in District 10. Erie High, McDowell and Butler. Erie High is no juggernaut. McDowell is always good. It would be a monumental upset if Butler beat McDowell in District 10 title game. Don't look for it to happen.

Judging by first game, I would say it would be close. And it would not surprise me if TJ won. But if I had to pick right now, I'd take Belle Vernon.

YES WE ARE!!!!! We will take a two-week break after holiday season and then start back up with basketball after New Year. Thanks for asking. Brad Everett and I do enjoy it. We hope fans enjoy some. The number of downloads and hits is good. On par with Pitt, Pirates and others. So we're pretty happy. Always trying to make it better. There are calls for more singing from me.

Honestly, I have no problem with Steel Valley at No. 1 - and I would have no problem with Sto-Rox at No. 1. Hey, what Steel Valley did this year is impressive, too. The impressive win against Serra moved Steel Valley way up the ladder.

I don't have North Catholic's enrollment numbers. The PIAA won't release school enrollment numbers until December. Today, they are releasing to all schools what classification enrollment parameters are. Schools have aa month or so to decide to play up a class.

sad Sto rox has only played one home game this fall. I know it’s out of players control but I’m hoping the school can use this to teach those kids that those kind of negative atmospheres post high school effect everyone.

It is a sad story for Sto-Rox. Certainly not a great area right now. I don't know what answer is. But it's not the players faults. I don't know what the players think. Some of them aren't from Sto-Rox originally anyway.

Brisker at Penn State is obviously a good story, but the one that surprises me is Hardy from Penn Hills.  He is playing alot when I don't think he was recruited highly, whereas Devonshire at Pitt is not getting much PT and was a higher rated recruit

Yes Devonshire had a bigger reputation. But we picked Devonshire and Hardy Post-Gazette co-Players of the Year. Hardy wasn't recruited as highly. I think mainly because of his size. Honestly, I think he opened many eyes with his great performance in state championship game.
