Could be a very good one. We all know McKeesport doesn't throw. But can you stop that flexbone? Aliquippa has terrific run defense. But has never played a running team quite like McKeesport. Don't overlook McKeesport's defense. McKeesport can definitely win, but it's hard to bet against Quips. Last year's semi between these two was terrific. Aliquippa won in OT 27-21. Expect another close one.

Top Hoops players to look or for this year? Adou, and Markus weren't well known until the season began last year. Any players like that?

Well, Adou was pretty well known before the season. But I don't think anyone expected him to end up with Kentucky offer. Someone will end up opening eyes. I'm telling you this Adam Bilinsky is very good at Norwin. Signed with Mercyhurst. Watch for Makhai Valentine at Steel Valley also.

I know nothing about Pine Richland other then they have a good QB. How is their run game ? Seems like we are better against the pass then the run. How is there defense ? Who besides the QB should we worry about ?

We, we, we. What are you on the USC coaching staff? Ethan Pillar is a running back for Pine who is pretty good. Strong runner. Not a speed guy. Don't sleep on Pine's defense, either. And Pine's OL is good. There take that back to "your" team.

Psyched that Shady Side Academy is practically playing a home game Friday night at Fox Chapel vs. Avonworth. What chances do you see for the Bulldogs?

Fox Chapel might have Foxes, but it will be Antelope country Friday. Avonworth just a better team, I think. But who thought Shady Side would beat EF?

I think that remains to be seen. The 5A finalists obviously can play with 6A. Heck, Pine beat both 6A finalists - NA and Central in back-to-back weeks. And couple of 4A teams could probably play with anyone.

You're talking the girls state semifinal in soccer. Mars and Moon, that's a game that's too far out of this world for me to pick. But again, why isn't that game played in Jupiter, Fla. Someone told me all the parents of Moon and Mars players  drive Saturns to the game. I also heard Venus Williams is the honorary captain. And is it true that Mercury Morris' daughter plays for Mars. And that the team revolves around her. Someone told me that, but I just can't believe it.

I might be The Fumbler, but just don't have time to write it. Or The Fumbler could be one of the strikers. Or The Fumbler could be a part-timer who refuses to work during the strike. I think he's hoping for a new CBA where he gets a max contract.

First off, ain't no coach ever won championships without "playaz." And can we just let Render, Kasperowicz and other successful coaches have their own legacies? Just like we should give credit to Junko and LeDonne for what they are doing. But will there be more championship appearances than just this year?

When will 95 Ringgold go into wpial hall of fame?   They beat a team that beat Kobe Bryant for crying out loud

Probably never. I mean, it was a great feat for Ringgold to win state title in 1995, but there are many teams I would put in before that team. Ringgold was good, but they didn't even win their section and lost in the WPIAL semifinals. As for the Kobe reference? Sorry, I don't see it. That was Kobe's junior year and Lower Merion lost in second round of state to Hazleton. Ringgold never beat Hazleton in states. Ringgold beat DuBois, Woodland Hills, Cathedral Prep, Butler and Williamsport. Got it?
