whats the best sports highlight you’ve seen in person in all your years of covering sports?

Well Steak, you are a rare one and you certainly are grilling me on this one. Are you any relation to Darelle Porterhouse? But the best highlight ever? That's really hard. I'd have to think. One that jumps out to me right away - and might be a little outside the box - is when future Olympian Lauryn Williams gave Rochester the 400 meter relay state championship. Look it up. It's on YouTube. Incredible. Never seen anything like it. She took the baton in last place. Probably trailed by at least 10-15 meters. She was shot out of a cannon to win it. That's just one. Seriously, search it on YouTube. It's incredible.

Future NFL stats? C'mon that's saying a lot. Fabulous 22 comes out Thursday. From 1980 through 2016, there was a future NFL player on every team except one year. So it's safe to say someone will make NFL from this year. But I wouldn't call anyone a future NFL star. Let's let them make an impact in college first.

Don’t necessarily want to keep on Covid points but reading all written above the PIAA should look into relaxing the 15 practices needed to start rule right?   Seems everything should be on the table to try to get games in and almost every team has had the unofficial workouts leading up to this point.

I don't disagree with you. I think they should maybe look at it. Maybe 10? But they didn't relax the rule in fall sports, so ...

Fabulous 22 comes out Thanksgiving. And a real big thing we have coming out in two weeks is "all time" Fabulous 22. Lots of interest in this. This is the 40th anniversary of the Fab 22 so we are picking a team from the 40 years. A committee is picking it. When you see this team, you'll say "Wow." All conference teams we won't publish until December and also players of the year.

I told you. I'll say no. ... One other highlight comes to mind. When Billy Owens scored 53 in 1988 state championship against Central Catholic. Darrelle Revis' three days of ridiculousness when he had possibly best state championship performance ever on a Sunday - and put up 35 on Beaver Falls in a basketball game Tuesday.

We will decide in next week or so. Vote of P-G staff. To me, it's three choices. Gateway's Derrick Davis, Beaver Falls' Josh Hough and Pine-Richland's Cole Spencer. That's just me. What do you think?

Any predictions on 5A hoops based on returning players?

Class 5A should be pretty darn good. New Castle moves up and has a lot back. Mars still will be good. Chartiers Valley. Penn Hills. Laurel Highlands has Rodney Gallagher back, plus I've heard a few transfers.

Is Devon Carney playing for Butler this season?  Rumors are flying around that he transferred to a school in Ohio or NA???

Well I can tell you he's not at NA. And he was taking online classes, like he did previously. So he was still at Butler. Will he play this year at Butler? Not sure yet. Will know soon. But I can tell you that he didn't attend offseason workouts with Butler team.

Do you think the wrestlefest tournaments that have all been moved to Monroeville will get cancelled now with the new restrictions? Plus its hard to wrestle in a mask

Well, PIAA passed a motion last week that any tournaments in regular season can't have more than 8 wrestlers per weight class. ... Not sure, but I think they also passed a motion for no foreign objects this year and no use of the turnbuckle.
