No mention of either North Hills team in the basketball preview.  What are the chances that the boys and girls teams make a run in the playoffs?
Mike White
11:18
Lot of inexperience and young players on boys team. Would be gigantic if girls made playoffs.

Hey Mike, who you got in Allderdice vs Montour hoops this Friday, December 1st?
Mike White
11:19
I think I'd take Dice. But watch out for Montour's 6-11 Sow kid. He's really improved since last year.
Yardage
11:19
Mike you said Peters township had the 8th most yards in a wpial championship game… can you tell me who 1-7 is? Or direct me to a site with all the stats
Mike White
11:20
There is no site. I keep those records and I don't have them in front of me right now.

In a hypothetical where the WPIAL champions from this year are put in a bracket and compete to be the champion of champions, who do you have coming out on top? I know the obvious choice is NA or Peters but I’m taking the Quips all day. They just don’t know how to lose over there - doesn’t matter the classification.
Mike White
11:20
North Allegheny.
Slip
11:20
Mike, I was walking around the Pittsburgh post Gazette building, and I slipped on a piece of ice, and I smashed my elbow. Really not happy about that. Can you go out there and clear it, or does your building have custodians? That’s a lawsuit waiting to happen
Mike White
11:21
Shenderovich and Shenderovich.
Ryan
11:21
Mike with the Basketball Season starting on What do you think about The Mars Planets They will have a Good Team Lead By Ryan ceh
Mike White
11:23
Ryan Ceh is one of the more underrated players in WPIAL. I think he's like 6-5, right? Gotten better and better. Can really shoot it but has become more athletic. I could see him maybe being a Patriot League recruit. And did you know his father, Bob, used to be the starting long snapper at Penn State. His grandfather, Earl, was longtime coach at Bellevue and North Hills and also AD at North Hills.

I think an interesting piece would be to do the best/funniest answers from the Fab 22 over the years.
Mike White
11:23
We'll think about that. But we've only been doing those Q and As for maybe 10-12 years.
Thanks
11:23
Hey Mike, hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Thankful you do this chat so we have a place to discuss our love of the sports. Did you get out and play in a Turkey Bowl?
Mike White
11:24
Yes, played with Hedo Turkoglu.

Any big time Christmas tournament matchups to look out for?
Mike White
11:25
Lincoln Park is playing North Catholic at PPG Paints on Dec. 27. Beaver Dome usually has some good ones also but not sure of matchups.

Mike what are your thoughts on the Mt. Lebanon basketball team this year? You think they can make a run?
Mike White
11:26
6A is wide open. I think Mt. Lebanon has three starters back. They will be decent, but I don't think there is an overwhelming team in 6A. It's parity, buddy. But honestly, I think 6A is a little down.
Matt Manning (coach)

Mike, good morning. What are your thoughts on lebo hoops this year, and would you agree Co David is the “Mike Tomlin” of highschool sports? Not good enough to go all the way, but will never go below .500?

11:27
Who is the best WPIAL football team in the last 10 years Mike?
Mike White
11:28
There are teams that were dominant at their level, but wouldn't be the best because they wouldn't beat a 6A team. The most dominant was the 2016 Steel Valley team that won a state title and beat every team by mercy rule, including Southern Columbia.
Coach Prime (Devil)
11:29
Michael- HYPOTHETICALLY if you were to take a very below average 6a football teams beat seniors, and have them play a 7v7 against the best remaining senior athletes at said school, who would come out on top? smile
Mike White
11:29
I don't talk 7 on 7.

Mt. Rushmore of Top WPIAL Multi-Sport athletes since 2000?
Mike White
11:32
Caught me off guard. Would have to think. But Terrelle Pryor comes to mind right away. I'd put him No. 1. In no order, you have to think about Malik Hooker, Phil Jurkovec, Neil Walker, Sean Lee, Adam DiMichele, Darrelle Revis, Rodney Gallagher.

Great football coverage this year, Mike. More TV coverage would be nice (5A/6A championships). I have watched the WPIAL Championships for years, this was the first year I noticed a very glaring difference in the 1A-3A teams, compared to the 4A/5A/6A teams - particularly the size of the lineman. Because of school size, there has always been a difference in position depth (shear numbers), however seeing the 175-190lb interior lineman at the 1A-3A levels answers questions being posted on social media. Many are saying Ft. Cherry and other small schools can compete at much high levels. You mentioned on a previous transcript the this years Peters 14-0 team could not beat NA and or Central because "they are undersized". Peters front 5 on D is 6’2”, 5’-10”, 6’4”, 6’-6” and 6’-3” and the O line front is comparable to their D line (fact checked). Not sure if fans (likely parents) realized the size and speed at higher levels, due simply to more numbers. Agree?
Mike White
11:33
Big differences between 3A and 4A, and 4A and 5A. People don't realize that. One of the differences is depth. And yes, also size.

Mike, in your opinion who is the BEST student section leader this year?
Mike White
11:33
No clue.
Uno Dos
11:33
Mike, let me cut to the chase.  Why don’t more teams run the wing T offense.  I think it has a 100% success rate. Just one man’s thoughts I guess
Mike White
11:34
Yes, it has been successful with some teams. But I will say this. When you get a game and you get down, you need to have some semblance of a passing game. Unless your running game is so good that you don't get behind.

Who is the tallest BB player to ever play in the WPIAL?
Mike White
11:35
We've had some 7-footers. I don't know if we've ever had anyone 7-1 or taller, though.

Mike,  is 5A and 6A not going to play at Heinz Field for the foreseeable future?   Watching the other games attendance didn’t look that great?  The bigger schools would definitely bring bigger crowds?  The games were sponsored by the Steelers this year?  Why was that?
Mike White
11:38
As has been discussed many times before and written about before. It all depends on the PIAA brackets. If the 5A and 6A championships have to be done a week before, then I question whether you will see them at Acrisure because does the WPIAL want to put two or four games in Acrisure. Exact attendance figures aren't available from the WPIAL yet on 5A and 6A. But Vince Sortino from the WPIAL said he estimated around 6,000 TOTAL for the 5A and 6A games at Norwin. That's not tremendous. There were 12,000 at Acrisure for four games. But this year's teams in Class 1A helped a great deal with attendance. Best Class 1A crowd I've seen in long, long time. Great to see support from Fort Cherry and South Side.

Mike white you need to just shut up and quite frankly I don’t like your attitude, furthermore your opinions are WRONG!
Mike White
11:39
Well then get the heck off the chat if you don't like it.

Mike the younger Spells brother from McKeesport is quite a player and IMO they should have used him more in the offense but Aliquippa had all the answers and great QB good luck to them in States
