Is it realistic to think that the Nats, with inexperienced players getting another year under their belt with maybe a couple offseason additions, could contend for a playoff spot next year?

Think they're at least a couple of years away. They do have the payroll space to be aggressive once a young core is in place to build around, but the state of their roster coupled with the strength of the division make it hard for me to see them being a playoff team next year.

I think we're definitely at the breaking point with Reynolds. If the Bucs can't get this extension done I think he's as good as gone at the deadline

Assuming another 30 start season with 2.5-3 ERA like 2021-22, he's getting more than Rodon got. Thinking in the $200MM range

If they're willing to negotiate mid-season, I think Montgomery would make a ton of sense for St Louis on a 4-72 type of deal. Think there's a decent chance he's in St Louis beyond this season

Nashville sounds like a near certainty. Vegas would be the other one if Oakland doesn't wind up there. Austin makes sense to me - plenty of money there these days

Definitely not. But I will say if the Jays can get Kikuchi to return to being a serviceable starter to round out their rotation they will be looking in very good shape this season
