Just imagine if we kept Betts Bogaerts and Eovaldi. We would be pretty good I think
Simon Hampton
10:38
Yeah. Would've helped a lot and the Red Sox have the resources to have done all of that
10:39
Joc Pederson is going on the IL with wrist inflammation
Maggs30
10:40
Is there any way the Tigers can move on from Baez? I don't see him opting out.
Simon Hampton
10:40
Not really. You just hang on to him and hope he can find something again but no one's trading for him

10:42
Are the Cubs a viable wild card threat? Hitting looks better than expected.
Simon Hampton
10:43
There's some upside potential there but still think there's three playoff teams in the NL East and two in the NL West, so I find it hard to see the Cubs getting there
Robbie
10:43
Do you see the jays winning today game against the rays
Simon Hampton
10:44
With Kikuchi on the hill I'd pick the Rays as the favorite today
Joe
10:44
Does the Woodruff setback make the Brewers buy a pitcher at the deadline, or does it accelerate a sell-off of pending FAs?
Simon Hampton
10:45
Think we're still in wait and see mode with Woodruff. Obviously a bit of concern there that he had an MRI three days ago and they're still working out what to do though

A sell off of pending FAs will depend entirely on the Brewers' record at the deadline
10:46
Just going to put a couple of things on the site - back in five

10:53
You really take some dumb questions.
Simon Hampton
10:53
And this is the dumbest of the lot

10:53
What’s your opinion of the new pitch clock?
Simon Hampton
10:54
I think it's great - although the ump had an absolute shocker calling out Cody Bellinger for a violation for appreciating the Dodger Stadium applause
Fan
10:55
Tommorrow has some great pitching matchups scheduled what one excites you the most?
Simon Hampton
10:56
Gotta go with McClanahan against Manoah here, although Cole v Lopez will be a good one as well
High Mistress of Mosh
10:57
Any thoughts on Volpe? Is he the next Jeter, a total bust, ot
Simon Hampton
10:57
Those are two extremes... the most likely outcome is probably somewhere in the middle

10:58
What about Gallen vs alcantara?
Simon Hampton
10:58
Another good one!
Ghost of Tony Bautista
10:59
Still can't believe cards traded Alcantara and Gallen for Ozuna.
Simon Hampton
11:00
Hindsight's obviously a beautiful thing but yeah that one has not aged well at all

Orlando on the list for Expansion Team or Tradedeadline at Midnight or Trading all year round.
Simon Hampton
11:02
Las Vegas, Austin and Nashville are my top picks for new cities to get baseball.

Trade deadline is fine as it is, maybe push it back to 8pm ET and make more of a TV event out of it. You want it to finish when people are awake though

If you're a fan of the pitch clock you either 1) never pitched at a high level or 2) are scared that criticizing MLB for its stupid mistakes will cause a further decline in viewership and hurt your future income
Simon Hampton
11:06
Can confirm I never pitched at a high level. As for the second part, I mean MLB's viewership will have no influence on my future income but faster games certainly makes me enjoy baseball games a lot more

11:06
Isn't Austin too close to DFW?  At least Nashville and Vegas are far enough away from competitive teams.
Simon Hampton
11:07
I think it's fine. NYC, Philly, Baltimore, DC? A lot of money pouring into Austin and given there's not a lot of other pro sport there it'd be a good opportunity for MLB to get the jump on the market

11:07
Twins for real or too early yet?
Simon Hampton
11:08
Nah the Twins are good. Like them a lot this year
Handful more then we'll wrap things up
Reds 2024?
11:09
Reds young core looks good. Compete sooner than later?
Simon Hampton
11:09
2024 is a bit soon I think. Maybe 2025?

11:09
Which teams have pleasantly surprised so far, other than the Rays, and which teams have disappointed?
Simon Hampton
11:11
Disappointed with the White Sox, Phillies and just how bad the A's have been (even though I never expected them to be any good). Pleasantly surprised by how good the Twins are looking

11:12
Better choice for production...Rowdy Tellez or Tristin Casas?
Simon Hampton
11:12
Tellez is a safer bet but Casas has the upside
