With all the mlbtrade rumor chat writers being so knowledgeable how often do you guys get offers to work for individual clubs in management
Anthony Franco
3:38
Haha, I think you're overstating our value to teams. I can't speak for anyone else on staff, but I've never gotten an offer to work for a club
Tim
3:39
Who's interested in Corey Dickerson? Solid left-handed bat and good fielder
Anthony Franco
3:39
He'll land somewhere on a one-year deal, probably be worth a bit more than he ends up making
3:40
Maybe a return to Philly, could fit with the Reds or Guardians perhaps
Nats fan
3:40
Given how far away the Nationals are from contending, if they can't sign him to a long-term extension so, what do you think the return would be if they were to trade him with three years of control?
Anthony Franco
3:40
Soto? Astronomical but I don't think they're giving that any consideration
Twins and fish
3:41
What kind of package would it take to land Pablo Lopez for the twins?
Anthony Franco
3:42
Interesting fit given the Marlins' hunt for controllable outfielders. I'd guess a López deal involves whichever of Larnach or Kirilloff the Fish like more
Tim
3:43
Status of Mike clevinger?
Anthony Franco
3:43
Seems like the most recent update is from November when he said he expected to be throwing at max effort within a few weeks. No reason to believe he's not on track for Spring Training

Is Manny Machado a Hall of Famer? He has never been considered one of the best players in the game, but has 45 rWAR, is coming off a 5 WAR season and will only be 30 in July.
Anthony Franco
3:44
Still work to be done obviously but I think he's on that path, yeah
Bryan
3:44
Thanks for the chat Anthony!! Thoughts on Padres brass keeping Preller long term?
Anthony Franco
3:45
Run of Padres questions in the queue for some reason, this'll be the last one I take
3:46
I'd give him at least another year and then reevaluate. Took a long time and a lot of money but that roster's really good. Wouldn't abandon Preller now mostly because the entire pitching staff got hurt late last season

3:46
Gazing into your crystal ball, who do you see playing SS for the Angels this year. Hopefully someone that is not on their current roster.
Anthony Franco
3:46
Yeah they need somebody. DeJong or Ahmed make sense if they're not going to splurge
Dan
3:47
I see that the Mets are again getting turned down for interviews...this time for bench coach. Any thoughts on the reason why?
Anthony Franco
3:47
Seems like a few of their requests just came late enough in the process that those guys' current teams didn't want to scramble to replace them
3:48
Are the Mets actually being turned down by an abnormally high number of candidates this offseason or are they just getting leaked when most organizations keep that stuff in-house? I really don't know the answer
John
3:48
Finding topics to write articles about has to be getting very challenging at this point no?
Anthony Franco
3:49
Getting tougher, yeah. The minor league signings also seemed to dry up. Can only hope the CBA discussions become more frequent and fruitful in the coming weeks
CJR
3:50
Do you expect  NYY to add another pitcher and if so does a trade or FA seem more plausible
Anthony Franco
3:50
Trade seems more viable, since free agency's down to like Rodón, Kershaw and Michael Pineda (at least for starters)
3:51
The Yankees are a good fit for any of the Oakland guys. Everyone with a rotation need probably wants Montas, but he makes a ton of sense with New York
MLB
3:51
Can an American born or a Canadian born player move to a different country for a year then become an amateur international free agent when he turns 16, 17, etc.?
Anthony Franco
3:52
I don't know the exact rules on eligibility but I believe Alex Reyes did something like this to avoid the draft
3:53
Or I should say, he was from New Jersey and then moved to the Dominican Republic as a teenager and got out of the draft. Whether he moved for family reasons or specifically to avoid the draft, I don't know
Twins Brewers
3:54
Max Kepler/Jose Miranda enough for Freddy Peralta?
Anthony Franco
3:55
Nah, I don't think Milwaukee's giving any consideration to a Peralta trade. They locked him up through 2026 right before he became really good
Alright everyone, that's all I've got time for today
3:56
Thanks as always for hanging out
We had over 500 people in here at peak, so as always, had a bunch of stuff I couldn't get to
3:57
I chat every week with Front Office subscribers and get to the vast majority of questions in there with significantly fewer people competing for questions
If you're interested in the Front Office memberships, that's available here
You can also reach me on Twitter @affranco10. I'm typically pretty responsive there

Have a good week!
