Guard Dog
4:50
So who should the Guardians target either in free agency or trade to anchor one of their corner OF spots?
Anthony Franco
4:51
I think Conforto's a really good fit from a roster perspective, although he might wind up being out of their price range
4:52
If they're going cheaper, Tommy Pham will probably bounce back. Andrew McCutchen's a decent hitter still

Is Corre’s better defensive ability than Seager really worth giving him a higher contract? Offensively, Correa hasn’t necessarily shown anything extensively better than Seager over the years
Anthony Franco
4:52
Yeah I think the difference in their respective gloves is big enough I'd rather have Correa long-term
Dashman
4:52
What kind of odds do you give the Brewers to win the NL pennant? And why?
Anthony Franco
4:53
Somewhere in the 10-15% range? Dodgers feel like the favorites in the NL to me, but Milwaukee might have the second-best odds
4:54
Obviously that's subject to change based on the rest of the offseason
Cincity
4:54
Rf reds? Pederson?good fit for GABP?
Anthony Franco
4:55
Sure, I think that's a decent fit. Joc's probably a one-year deal guy. Not coming off a great season but he'll be affordable and I'd rather have him than Aquino or Akiyama out there on most days

We have all heard the Kevin Kiermaier rumors, but do you think it would be possible for a team to pry any of the other veterans away from Tampa Bay in trade? I am thinking about players such as Austin Meadows, Yandy Diaz, Manuel Margot, etc.
Anthony Franco
4:56
The Rays are willing to listen on almost anybody. I think Glasnow, Yarbrough, Margot, Yandy are all realistic trade candidates
4:57
(Not saying they'll all actually get moved, but wouldn't surprise me if any of them did)
Meadows perhaps, but that might be a bit of a sell-low situation that they're not feeling super motivated to make

4:58
How confident are you Mets can find a trade destination for Jeff McNeil
Anthony Franco
4:58
They certainly could find a destination for McNeil. Blue Jays/White Sox jump out as pretty obvious fits at first glance
4:59
Whether they actually do something like that, idk. That'd be putting a fair amount of stock in a Canó bounceback or Davis playing a lot of third base (with Escobar spending the majority of his time at second)

Are we sure the NL gets a DH this year? Everytime Manfred mentions it it sounds like he'd be willing to do that for the players to get something in return and I could see the players willing to forego the NL DH in order to address other labour issues
Anthony Franco
5:00
I wouldn't call it a foregone conclusion for that reason, but I still think it's significantly likelier than not they eventually put the universal DH in there

Do you think there are any untouchable prospects for the Giants in their pursuit of a quality SP? I would think Luciano for sure, and my guess is they would really want to hold on to Harrison and at least one of Matos and Pomares
Anthony Franco
5:01
I don't know about true "untouchables," but I'd be shocked if they move Luciano and it seems like Bart's probably the main guy behind the plate next year
5:02
Wouldn't be shocked if they moved any of Matos, Ramos or Harrison for controllable pitching help though
Jon
5:02
What are the likeliest landing spots for Kenley Jansen, in your opinion?
Anthony Franco
5:03
Royals went into the offseason seeking bullpen help and haven't done anything yet. Blue Jays could use some certainty in the late innings, Cardinals too perhaps
5:04
Wouldn't rule out the Dodgers either, given the longstanding ties there.

montas for dalbec, durran & a lower-level red sox prospect - who says no?
Anthony Franco
5:04
I don't think Oakland's doing that

Reds trade Luis Castillo and winked to mariners for…
Anthony Franco
5:04
I'd be shocked if the Reds traded Winker this offseason

The Rangers need a SP, and have had luck with reclamation types (Minor, Lynn, Gibson). Which FAs fit that mold this season? Duffy? Who else?
Anthony Franco
5:05
I looked at the lower-cost rotation options last week
Not sure that Kikuchi really fits the "reclamation mold" bucket, but he seems like a viable fit there
Somebody will roll the dice on Vince Velasquez again. For all the homers, he continues to generate a lot of swing-and-miss
Andruw Jones
5:07
Which happens first, I get inducted to the Hall of Fame or my son Druw makes his MLB debut?
Anthony Franco
5:07
The latter, I don't think Jones is getting in the HOF

How concerned should I be with Max Muncy's UCL? Seager missed nearly a full year after TJ.  Do I pre-emptively trade for a corner infield or power bat like Olson or sign Bryant?
Anthony Franco
5:09
No indication Muncy needs TJS, and his injury was on the non-throwing elbow
Obviously it's impossible to feel 100% until Muncy's back in game action, but I doubt the Dodgers are super concerned

If Luis Robert stays healthy you think he have a shot of a MVP season?
