I think it's very plausible he winds up with either of the teams you mentioned, maybe San Diego or Boston as well. I've been less convinced than most since the start of the offseason that Freeman back to Atlanta was a fait accompli
6:00
Braves fans can take solace in the fact that I'm terrible at predicting landing spots though. Pretty sure the only pick I've gotten right on the pre-offseason projections was Brandon Belt
6:01
And he accepted the QO as a lot of people thought he would, so it's not like that's even impressive

Any surprises from the Rule 5 Draft today?
Anthony Franco
6:01
Better question for the guys at Baseball America who dig really deeply into that stuff
6:02
My biggest takeaway was that Carson Fulmer's stock has fallen really far to be a second-rounder in the minor league Rule 5

What does trade package from Mariners to A’s look like to get Chapman?  Would something like Luis Torrens and Brandon Williamson plus one or two young prospects get it done?
Anthony Franco
6:03
No, I think you're looking at centering the deal around one of the top guys in the system you (and seemingly Jerry Dipoto) really don't want to give up in that kind of trade
Anthony
6:03
where do the red sox go now after the renfroe trade? is jbj going to play everyday or is there another move?
Anthony Franco
6:04
Bloom said after that they want to add a righty bat. Can look into either the infield or outfield, since Hernández is capable of playing both center field or second base well. I'd be really surprised if Boston's completely done

Can GMs still work out trades and then finalize them once the lockout ends?
Anthony Franco
6:04
Not involving players on 40-man rosters, no
6:05
Not within the rules, at least. Maybe some are doing back-channel stuff but I doubt it

Anthony: Good Afternoon. At the  end of the day which Marlin young pitcher will need to leave for Mullins or Marte?
Anthony Franco
6:06
You're setting your sights really high on those guys. I'd be surprised if either Arizona or Baltimore actually moves one
To answer your question, if it happens on either Marte or Mullins, I think it might have to involve Trevor Rogers. I doubt Miami would want to do that

How hard is it to find articles of importance to put on the site due to the circumstances? And has it caused Tim to try to send you guys looking for stories under rocks just for content to input on a daily basis? Or is it exactly the same as it was when there was too much content two weeks ago and not enough hands to input it?
Anthony Franco
6:07
Definitely not the same as it was two weeks ago haha
6:08
It's slow, predictably. We've done a couple more original posts -- Mark's catcher breakdown, Darragh's Moustakas article, I'm almost done with a post on David Bednar/Chris Stratton that'll likely go up tonight
6:09
As far as "news," it's pretty much been managerial interviews with the Mets and A's and former big leaguers signing in foreign pro leagues
Josh Harrison
6:09
If there is a salary floor of $100 million, do the A's halt the rebuild?
Anthony Franco
6:09
I don't think there will be a salary floor that high, but yeah, that'd throw a real wrench in their plans
6:10
Ken Rosenthal reported a few weeks ago that they were worried about this, which could be part of the reason they didn't actually start the sell-off before the lockout

Thoughts on Stroman deal?
Anthony Franco
6:11
It's alright. I thought he'd do a bit better on the overall guarantee, but it seems like they prioritized the opt-out and loftier AAV
6:12
Cubs are a little weird for the team to give that kind of deal, since I'm not sure they're contenders in either of the next two years even with Stroman. But they had a boatload of money to spend, he'll make them better at least, and it's not a long-term deal that could linger into 2024/25 when they should be full-fledged contenders if everything goes right
Jerry Dipoto
6:12
Do I really want Trevor Story? Out of Colorado, changing positions... should I be targeting Kris Bryant instead?
Anthony Franco
6:13
I think Story's ability to play the middle infield makes him a slightly better fit for the Mariners than Bryant, but I could see the case for either guy there
6:14
I also like Abraham Toro as an everyday third baseman though, so I don't see that as a huge need
Stanthemanfan
6:14
What do you see as the 2 most likely moves St. Louis makes before the season now that Matz is done?
Anthony Franco
6:14
Trading DeJong, signing a late-inning reliever
Grayson
6:14
Is there any possibility that Correa has a colder market than people believe? He has ostracized himself from numerous fanbases and has now waited around as other teams have addressed their own needs.
Anthony Franco
6:15
I don't see it. He's so good even post sign stealing, and we're less than a year removed from George Springer landing the largest guarantee of any free agent in the 2020-21 offseason
I think Correa will be fine, still expect him to beat Seager's $325M
Guardians are Goofy
6:15
Is there ANY possible way that we will actually land an everyday OF?   This is ridiculous!   Could they be waiting to see if there is a ceiling floor?   I could see Soler, Joc or Shwarbs being real options
Anthony Franco
6:16
Schwarber feels costlier than Cleveland would be willing to go, but I do think they'll do something
Soler fits, I guess. Maybe Conforto's market drops far enough that the Guardians hop in there?
Suzuki
6:17
What separates me from many of the Japanese hitters who have struggled?  Is 5/$55M reasonable?
Anthony Franco
6:18
We've heard from evaluators who think Suzuki's the best non-Ohtani position player coming over from NPB over the past few seasons. In addition to being significantly younger than guys like Shogo Akiyama or Yoshi Tsutsugo, he's just got a more well-rounded offensive profile
6:19
Way more power than Akiyama, but far fewer strikeouts than Tsutsugo. Avi García just got 4/53 from the Marlins and he's three years older. If you think Suzuki's a similar caliber of player right now, then 5/55 is more than reaosnable
