Hey everyone, looking forward to another chat!
4:33
Going to give it another minute and then we'll get started

4:34
Angels bullpen top 5 in MLB ?
Anthony Franco
4:34
I think it's average, like 15-20
4:35
I like the top-end guys but I'm still a little skeptical about the middle innings
RC
4:35
What do you think of Mariners manager Scott Servais and Where does he rank among other teams Managers?
Anthony Franco
4:36
It's impossible to rank managers from the outside with any degree of accuracy, really, but Servais seems generally solid

Are the Giants for real? How is this team of minor league cast offs keeping up with the star studded dodgers the last two years?
Anthony Franco
4:37
Yeah they're good. I don't think they're better than the Dodgers but they're a pretty easy playoff team for me
4:38
Your characterization of them as a bunch of minor league cast-offs is pretty harsh. There's definitely an element of the mix-and-match platoon stuff they do really well with the lineup, but they also have the Crawford/Belt types in the lineup
4:39
And the pitching's legit. Rodón is incredible when healthy, should've done better than he did in free agency. Logan Webb broke out, Alex Wood has also always been very productive when healthy
Warren
4:39
when do you think the Biggo gets traded ?
Anthony Franco
4:40
Probably next offseason. I don't see why they'd thin out the depth, particularly when the starting lineup skews right-handed, midseason. It's not like Biggio's going to bring back a whole lot anyways

4:40
Early take on who will be looking heavily at the starter trade market in July?
Anthony Franco
4:41
Basically any contender could try to add rotation help, particularly as injuries come up. Minnesota, Seattle, Toronto, Yankees, maybe St. Louis

4:41
Rodon for cy young?
Anthony Franco
4:42
It's been three weeks and he might be on an innings limit after last season. But if he stays healthy and logs a more or less full workload, I could see him sticking in that mix
4:43
He was among the top three through August in the AL last year
Kim
4:43
What move or moves do I need to make to be a contender?
Anthony Franco
4:43
(I assume this is supposed to be Kim Ng, the Marlins' GM)
4:44
They tried to address the outfield over the offseason, but I didn't like the García or Soler signings at the time. I think Miami overvalued the physical tools at the expense of those players' inconsistent track records of performance
4:45
Wouldn't surprise me if they still could use outfield help this summer. Maybe a true center fielder that allows them to push Jesús Sánchez into a corner?
Team Kaptain
4:45
Prediction of what the Reds do at the trade deadline?
Anthony Franco
4:46
Trade at least one of Castillo/Mahle, Naquin and Pham too if they're performing well enough to draw interest
4:47
I don't think they want to do a full rebuild and they've been hit hard by injuries early this year. But they were always a bit of a longshot -- just didn't give themselves much margin for error with the way they've played their last two offseasons
4:48
It's early and I don't think they're actually all that bad a team, but they also aren't good really and it's a long road back to even get to .500
Farhan
4:48
Off the two ex-Giants on the Rockies current roster, who is going to have the better season? Joe vs. Bryant??
Anthony Franco
4:48
Ha, it's still KB. Joe's a nice story though, hope he continues to play well
Jamoche1
4:48
Which is the real Guardians, the team that swept the Chisox, or the team that has currently lost five in a row? What changes can they make in personnel to snap out of it?
Anthony Franco
4:49
Obviously the answer's somewhere in the middle but I think they're closer to the latter. The lineup played over its head for the first couple weeks, I don't expect that to continue
4:50
Eventually getting an outfield upgrade over Naylor would be helpful. Maybe a first baseman too, if they're cool kicking Owen Miller back to second
4:51
That's not going to be any time soon though. There are a bunch of "what move should Team X make to fix Position Y" questions in the queue, but the vast majority of teams kind of are what they are for the next couple months at this point
Electric Factory
4:51
Will Ty France be in the MVP conversation this year? Is what he is doing sustainable?
Anthony Franco
4:52
Is he an MVP candidate? Nah. But he's a really good hitter, All-Star caliber type player
4:53
Between the lack of walks and defensive value, he's probably never going to be a top ten position player in the AL. But that doesn't mean he's not excellent. Can go a long way by making a ton of contact and hitting the ball hard. It's a rare combination
mike
4:53
Mitch Haniger is with the team any idea when he will be activated?
Anthony Franco
4:53
Ryan Divish just tweeted that Haniger said he hopes it can be within the next couple days
MN
4:54
With the Red Sox having about $70Mish committed to player payroll next year, what in the world are they going to do with all that extra money?
Anthony Franco
4:54
Obviously a lot of it depends on what happens this season, but the rotation looks like the long-term priority right now
4:55
Eovaldi's an impending FA. We'll know more about what Sale is by the end of the season, but he's a bit of a question mark right now. Same with Paxton. Hill and Wacha are on one-year deals
