At the same time, they're still clearly the fourth-best team in their division for me and while that's partially because three of the top 8-10 play in the NL East, it's also a reflection of them operating with limited financial flexibility both because of ownership spending constraints and rough deals last offseason for Soler and Avi GarcĂa
2:57
So I think they made the best of a tough hand they had this winter, but they also put themselves in that spot (at least to some extent) to begin with

What your say on the long-term CF for the Royals? Isbel, D. Hernandez, Waters, someone else in the MiLB, or someone not in the system
Anthony Franco
2:58
I don't think that guy's on the roster (or even necessarily in the organization) right now
3:00
Still moderately intrigued by Waters but the strikeouts are so big it's hard to project him as a long-term answer. I like Edward Olivares but he's more of a corner fit, never really been in on Isbel as a hitter
Chad Green

No news all winter and then the Jays deal comes out. How did I get missed on the top 50?
Anthony Franco
3:01
He's rehabbing from Tommy John surgery and signed a two-year, $8.5MM guarantee that's going to fall well outside the top 50 for the winter
3:02
He'd have been on there (arguably as high as the #2 reliever) if he were healthy, but he wasn't. We had some top 50 misses but that wasn't one of them
Best left on list

Who is the best remaining FA out there???

Wacha for me
Names
3:03
Cubs really upped their baseball name game with Dansby Swanson and Brad Boxberger this winter. What are some of your favorite baseball names? (I think my #1 is Brusdar Graterol for the record)
Anthony Franco
3:04
Arquimides Caminero is probably my favorite of the past few years. Big fan of Adeiny Hechavarria, Lars Nootbaar's solid
Jindoclese

Is the Jays 5th starter the biggest weakness now?
Anthony Franco
3:05
Yeah, rotation depth is the only real area of concern I have for them. Bullpen still isn't great but should be serviceable
Alright that's all I have time for this afternoon. Have to get back to covering the feed for the site
3:06
Thanks for all the questions, apologies as always for the stuff I couldn't address
I'll do another chat on Friday exclusive to Front Office subscribers. I'm much more likely to get to a question in those with a lot less competition

Our memberships also come with weekly posts from Steve and myself on various topics. I looked at the Cubs' decision to possibly extend or trade Ian Happ a couple days ago
You can find more about our memberships there. I'm also happy to take stuff on Twitter @affranco10
Have a good night!
