Hey everyone, looking forward to another chat!
Going to give the queue a minute and then we'll get going

Is Manny Machado your NL MVP so far?
Anthony Franco
5:03
Yeah, he and Trout would be my league MVP's through the season's first month
Orioles
5:03
Lots to be excited about with promotions coming. When can we expect to see Grayson Rodriguez?
Anthony Franco
5:04
I'd be surprised if he's not up by the end of June. He's working around five innings a start in Triple-A, has to be added to the 40-man at the end of the season anyways
5:05
I don't see a compelling reason not to have him in the majors by the second half of the year so long as he's performing at Norfolk
Nick Martinez
5:05
I'm I trade bait?
Anthony Franco
5:06
Snell feels like the guy who might move to me. I don't know who would trade for Martínez after the Padres gave him that bizarre contract
5:07
It's opt-out laden so the team is stuck with all the downside. The guarantee alone was higher than I'd expected, felt like SD just topped the market there because Preller loved Martínez. His early results have been fine but the strikeout and walk numbers are not good, I don't think there's much trade appeal there all things considered
5:09
Snell, on the other hand, has shown enough high-end that I think there'd be a lot of interest in him at around 2/29 when he comes back. They wouldn't get close to what they gave up for him, but they should be able to get a decent return if they're really concerned about freeing CBT breathing room
Austin Hays
5:09
Am I legit?
Anthony Franco
5:10
I don't think he's going to keep walking at a 10% clip and the BABIP probably comes down to drag his on-base closer to league average
5:11
But he makes contact, has real power, plays a strong corner outfielder. I don't think he's a budding superstar but a very good everyday player, yeah
Tigers

Brandon Drury and Tommy Pham for Jeimer Candelario Garrett Hill
Anthony Franco
5:12
I'm not sure what the point of this would be for Detroit. They're 9-21, that's not exactly "buy rentals" territory. Going to need to see some internal improvement before they consider adding
(I also don't expect them to sell low on Candelario after one bad month)

Will the Cardinals attempt to trade for a shortstop?
Anthony Franco
5:13
Yeah I think so. Doesn't mean they
Whoops
5:14
Doesn't mean they're going to land one, because the supply could be pretty limited unless the Sox and Braves are bad enough to put Boagerts/Swanson out there (possible but certainly no guarantee)
But it seemed like they had a lot of confidence in DeJong bouncing back over the winter. That feels like it's no longer the case, at least to as strong as an extent

Should Fernando Tatis Jr. just play the OF when he come back?  Kim is good and OF is less risky for Tatis.
Anthony Franco
5:15
In a vacuum I wouldn't mind this but Tatís seems to hate the idea and I think it's better to just keep him happy at short

What happened with Mark and Steve’s weekly chats?
Anthony Franco
5:16
They're still going. Steve's just been off for two weeks and I believe Mark got overloaded with news during his most recent weekend shift

How far back in gamesand what month will the Sox have to consider moving me?
Anthony Franco
5:17
They won't consider it until mid-late July at the earliest. How many games out? That partially depends on how many teams they'd have to pass, but I'd guess it's probably like seven-plus for the final WC spot
Gern Blanston
5:17
Do teams shy away at all from trading for catchers mid season because they have to learn a new pitching staff?
Anthony Franco
5:18
I've heard this theory before and vaguely believe it to be true, but I'm not actually familiar with any empirical evidence confirming that catchers are less likely to be dealt midseason than anyone else
Fantasy wonderer

Does Cole Winn get a cup of coffee for the Rangers this year?
Anthony Franco
5:19
I think they'd be open to it but he needs to perform better than he is right now
Another situation where he has to be added to 40 anyways and the big league rotation is wide open, though. So if he earns the call, it should be there

What would benetendi cost? Would the royals look to trade him. Seems him in left, kwan in right and straw in center and Cleveland would be a catcher upgrade from dangerous
Anthony Franco
5:21
The Royals aren't always keen on selling midseason, but I have to think they'd be open to dealing Benintendi. Impending FA, doesn't really feel like a long-term building block type
I think if they got a couple mid-tier, 40+/45 FV type prospects around the deadline, they'd do it
Angry Dan Duquette
5:22
Will the Orioles make a move or two since they are playing well
Anthony Franco
5:22
To actually buy? No
They're not going to be anywhere near the playoffs at the end
Rob Manfred
5:22
Do I need to re-juice the balls?
