Taillon is already on his way and could be there in 2017. I think Glasnow will still have his ups and downs in '17 but will get there eventually. That trio could be one of the best in baseball by 2018. I'm assuming that Cole will be fine.

Not too many good relievers available right now so I'm assuming that Johnson will be traded. The problem is that he's probably been too good this month and might not pass through waivers now. I think Markakis is staying put. Braves will try to win in 2017.

Do you think the Padres should go for Puig, or stick to Jankowski, Dickerson, Blash-Margot for next year?

No, I think they'll be just fine with 3 of Jankowski, Dickerson, Renfroe and Margot filling out their starting outfield. Unless they use one of them as trade bait to upgrade their starting rotation, which is horrible, I don't see an open spot for another outfielder.

How much fun would it be if they signed Mike Napoli? I don't think they'll spend big on offense, though. If they do something big, it will involve a trade of either Cargo or Blackmon that could bring back a young hitter to be their everyday 1B. And if not, another Mark Reynolds type would be more likely. I think CarGo to 1B isn't higher than Plan C.

Sure. If I were the Rays, I'd want elite talent that is close to the majors and the Braves don't have much more than Albies and Newcomb. Those 2 would start the conversation, but I really think they want Albies and Swanson up the middle when they move into their new ballpark.

They really wanted to rid themselves of Olivera and got also got a discounted Matt Kemp out of it. They also, apparently, got an "out of shape" Matt Kemp. To me, he just looks like an old man with bad knees and hips running around in the outfield but the Braves are calling it "out of shape". If he can get in better shape, which he didn't care to do previously for whatever reason, this can turn out to be a really good deal. He's a big name so he'll help to sell tickets. And they really needed a right-handed bat in that lineup to hit after Freeman.

Would an offer of J.Hader, D.Santana, S.Gennett, 1-2 Mid Level prospects get the Brewers Jose Quintana from the White Sox in the offseason?

No way. Quintana would require at least one elite prospect. So at least one of the 2 prospects they got from Texas in the Lucroy deal (Brinson/Ortiz) would have to be the starting point.
