I recall there being a prohibition on trading FA's signed in the off-season until June.  Would there be any similar trade prohibition on Kimbrel/Keuchel despite signing in June? Could a "possible" contender sign one/both and if it all goes south trade them by July 31?

I'm actually not sure of the answer to that, since it's pretty rare that we see big free agents sign midseason.  I would imagine Keuchel/Kimbrel might want some type of limited no-trade protection in their contracts so they aren't shipped somewhere they don't want to be, so soon after their long waits.

Is Marcus Stroman the best player available at the trade deadline?

I tend to think Anthony Rendon will be moved, so he would fit the 'best player available' description moreso than Stroman.  That said, Stroman could maybe be the best pitcher available, depending on how you feel about Bumgarner.

Watching these Braves, what a collection of young talent they have Acuña Jr. 21, Albies 22, Riley 22, Soroka 21...Man, their future is insanely bright!! Is there a better young core in Major League baseball??

Mayyyyybe the Padres, but a lot more of the Braves' young stars are already delivering big at the MLB level.  Current bullpen concerns aside, Atlanta is looking in great shape for years to come

Given the Pirates have stayed competitive with all their injuries and confusing production (poor offense, enigmatic pitching, comical defense), do you see them adding pitching and/or SS? Or do they just sit pat until deadline and make decision then?

I would think the Pirates would be buyers at the deadline, after last July's moves when they weren't even really in the race.  A lot can still happen between now and July 31, however, especially in such a competitive division
