If Yanks successfully void Ellsbury contract as non guaranteed for 2020, would that reduce its AAV, giving Yankees more wiggle room to spend under tax threshold? Assume would be true if a settlement less than full amount owed this year.

If the contract is voided, that would indeed remove Ellsbury's contract from luxury tax calculations.

But that whole situation really surprises me.  It's hard to imagine the Yankees would have taken this drastic step unless they believed they had a very serious case, since otherwise you're just needlessly ticking off the players' union and Scott Boras

Which would be better for me? 2/44....and test the market again? Or 4/58 and finish my career with that team?
Mark P
10:48
4/58, in all likelihood.  My guess is Donaldson wants security given that he's already in his mid-30's.  He's already made a lot of money his career

Will the Orioles keep Chris Davis throughout the rest of his 7 year contract?
Mark P

No chance

White Sox Tigers Padres make sense for me this season?
Mark P
10:51
Sure, he'll get interest as a possible bounce-back guy

Who would get the 75% mark in this year HOF ballot?
Mark P
10:54
Jeter is the only sure thing for this year's HOF class.

If I had a ballot, I'd vote Jeter, Bonds, Clemens, Walker, Rolen, and then I'd give a real think about a few others

I suspect the A's will make trades from their major league and minor league roster to improve.  Who do you think is most likely to be moved?
Mark P
10:55
Profar seems like an obvious trade chip if he still has any interest around the league.  Maybe one of Piscotty/Canha/Laureano, too

That's it for me this morning.  I'll be back next Sunday morning with another chat, so set those alarm clocks!
