Team in total rebuild with Matthew Boyd on the roster. What is fair return to get back? Is looking at major league players like Zack gelof, Caleb durbin Corbin burnes plausible or stick to prospects like Joe Mack or Peyton tolle?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:18
I don't know if you'll get interest but it's not wrong to shoot for the type of guys you listed. I tend to find that situations like Boyd (big resurgence, lots of fantasy ink spilled) can attract better returns than you might expect
Didier Fuentes
11:19
NL only deep league. Excellent fastball with a -3.7 VAA (1.8 HAVAA) that gets whiffs up in the zone. Flashes a good sweeper and splitter with a curveball at 80MPH. Watching him pitch you can see how this can work and he's pitched better than his numbers suggest. Could possibly put up a good month or two...or just wait until next year?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:20
I'd hold for the moment and see if he starts getting deeper
Pick 2
11:20
NL only league. You can only pick two: Blade Tidwell, Didier Fuentes, Emmet Sheehan and Janson Junk.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:20
Didier and Sheehan
Gavin W
11:21
Last week you said to keep the faith with Gavin Williams. I need another dose of that belief.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:21
I think I might be about out -- he just can't stop walking 3-4 guys an outing
until he does, he's hard to use
Reese in pieces
11:23
Would you start Reese @cle this week or wait for him to show he's healthy? Do you have a hard policy on IL returners (returnees?)?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:24
I'd probably wait one. Not necessarily to prove health but to make sure they'll let him go deep enough to do anything. Only face 17 batters in his last rehab, so I can't imagine the lease being long than 4 IP
No hard rule, usually just go off of how long they've been going in rehab starts
Grade This Trade
11:25
Follow up keeper league question, I acquired Cags and Jax (our league has holds) for Luis Castillo. What would you grade this trade and what are your thoughts on Cags?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:26
I thik you did great - rarely anything wrong in acquiring a young/elite hitter and while Castillo is far from washed, his value is certainly lower than it's been in a while
Astros Lefties
11:27
If you get this in time, would you start Walter in coors today?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:27
No!
Brooks 05
11:27
Thanks for the chat. Your thoughts on a trade based around Bryan Reynolds for Jac Caglianone? Points league. Thank you.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:27
Absolutely.
11:28
ROS, I'd rather have Reynolds
Grant Taylor
11:29
So now cws not only needs a lead, but needs is in the 8th, and Grant Taylor has to be his own setup man for his save opps. But he's still worth owning in a desperate for saves league, right?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:29
Yeah, probably
Desperation is a stinky cologne
Josh Naylor Tradebait
11:30
Would Josh Naylor straight up get me Crochet? Or would I need to include another piece? Would then try to flip Strider for some more offense.....thanks!
Nicklaus Gaut
11:31
You'd probably have to include another piece but I actually think their ROS values will be pretty similar
Re: Walter starting in coors
11:31
You were too late! I rolled the dice… Thanks for increasing my state of terror, though!
Nicklaus Gaut
11:31
I'll be thinking of you, my friend
Marcelo Mayer
11:32
Am I ever going to play against lefties?! Should my owners just cut bait?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:32
You will but probably shouldn't?
Is there hope for…
11:32
Is there hope for a post-All Star rebound for:
• Shane Smith
• Lance McCullers
• Jacob Melton
• Gavin Williams
Nicklaus Gaut
11:33
Williams has the most potential but you're basically just hoping for some Cleveland voodoo to get him to stop walking everyone
Someone set up a Jobu shrine, post haste!
A's arms
11:35
Ginn and Perkins have both looked interesting out the fka oakland pen. Would you buy either, especially with sevy maybe leaving?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:35
Ginn more so for me
11:36
would depend on league depth havig daily moves would help
Who is this guy?
11:37
Has Dietrich Enns, the idol of millions, found a permanent place at age 34 in the Tigers rotation?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:38
Permanent? No but I'm fully in favor of an old guy named Dietrich succeeding
so count me in for rooting for it
Ess Pee
11:38
Could you rank these arms: slade c, enns, t Rogers? Are they all above the rp threshold in an al only?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:39
Slade > Enns > Rogers
yeah but I much prefer Slade
Connecting…
