Does Clase (E.) get moved at the deadline?  And, is Cade Smith next up for saves?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:25
Man, I guess in theory he could be but it would take an absolute haul, right?
i know the contract is good, let me check
11:27
$6.4 in 2026, club options for $10 in 27 and 28
party 1
That's really good
11:28
I don't know where that emoji came from
make no mistake, though - I think they absolutely would trade him if someone came knocking with boatload

It was my reaction, sorry.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:29
no apologies! I forgot that was a setting and just thought one of my fat fingers had gone rogue
Go Dills!
11:29
good morning!  I'm in a traditional points, keeper, NL only 10 team roto league (our 42nd season!).  Currently in 3rd but bouncing from 1st to 4th for weeks.  We score W / WHIP/ S / K / ERA and HR /R / RBI/ SB/ AVG.  Just traded Susana, Jarlin (from my farm) Crews, Dylan , Rushing, Dalton , Marsh, Brandon, Young, Jacob, Calaz, Robert (from my farm) and Hodge, Porter for Soto, Gore, Bryan Reynolds and Pedro Pages.  Most expensive contract I traded was Hodge at $10.  Gore and Reynolds are rentals I will lose at the end of the season. Likely will let Soto go too because of his high contract ($43).  Flags fly forever, though!  How'd I do?

11:30
  1. 42nd season - the maddest of the mad respect to you and your crew
11:31
That's definitely a "win-now" move...and I love it
flags fly forever, indeed
It's rarely a bad idea to trade for Juan Soto in point leagues
general life philosophy
Deep league
11:32
Keeper, standard 5x5 roto, weekly trans, 11-team NL only. Keeper league w ~20+% inflation. $260 auction budget. Does Austin Riley have value @ 25. Most power 3B will be kept. Would you try to wash him to a cheaper contract in next year's draft?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:33
In a vacuum, I'd lean trying to wash down to something more reasonable. Maybe there is so little 3B power that you still have to spend something close to the keep price, but its a worhty gamble
11:34
fwiw, I see him as like a $20ish player in NL only
but I'd bump that up, given the power context in your league
buffy, the umpire slayer
11:35
At the halfway point, you indicated the split between ROS and last 60 (or so) days should be 60-40. My league's next replacement draft is at the 70% mark. Are you thinking 40-60 or a more aggressive look at 2025 results for a 33-66 split? I am actually thinking that ROS should be the tie breaker and nothing else.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:35
I think using ROS only as the tiebreaker is the safest play, overall
11:36
with that said, I think that can be adjusted more with individual players
11:37
Esepcially those whose ROS PAs may be too conservative, not accounting enough for recent upticks in playing time that are more likely to be permanent
11:38
I find sometimes that ROS numbers need more of a human eye on playing time. Too often they err on the side of a player's traditional PA per games, not accounting for situations where someone has clearly moved into a (mostly) full-time amount of at-bats
Go Dills!
11:38
Thanks!  I am the Cubs of our league - only won twice in all that time!  I'm all win now, though... farm guys and draft picks are assets to be moved if needed!
Nicklaus Gaut
11:39
Then take my previous advice and double it
Now double it again!
Another general rule of life philosophy -- any time you have a chance to be less like the Cubs...do that
sorry, my STL is showing
Sasaki prognosis
11:40
What are your thoughts about Sasaki’s usefulness ROS and would you consider him a keeper next season as opposed to say Bubba Chandler?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:41
I think his ROS usefullness will be dicey, at best
Not returning until late-August (maybe) and you know they're going to push him as little as possible in preparation for the post-season
I'd rather have Chandler
11:42
Not that I'm out on Sasaki - big believer in the overall diffficulty in transistioning from Japan/Korea to over here. And not just the baseball - just life, in general
11:43
they are human, after all and that's a whole mess of things swirling in your life all at once
But Chandler just has that sexy prospect upside I can't resist
Cags ROS outlook?
11:44
What is your ROS outlook for Cags? He started showing small signs of life and I’m hoping now he puts it together.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:45
was showing signs of life and I think there will be high spots the rest of the year. But rookies remain notoriously hard to count on for consisent production
