Josh Naylor has been tearing it up in Seattle since he arrived; Geno Suarez, not so much, but, as they say, all good vibes. Will the M's sign Naylor to a long term contract next year? Will they dump Suarez again and let Ben Williamson play? What does your crystal ball tell you?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:53
I think Naylor is a good fit and Seattle would (wisely) be in the mix
but he's fishing for a big one, so I'm not sure if they'll stay in the hunt, right now
11:54
Eugenio's prolly gone
Roden
11:54
Alan Roden has hit throughout the minors—the Son of Luis Arraez. But MLB pitching seems to befuddle him. Will he figure it out or is he doomed to Quadruple-A?

Nicklaus Gaut
11:55
I lean more that he's another in a long-line of Twins Quad-Aers

Hey Nick! I've got a 17 pt lead in my AL only keeper league. Some teams are buying (we only allow keeper-heavy trades in August) but I'm wondering how hard I should try for a deal. Should I deal my best keeper or try to get by with smaller moves?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:55
  1. love your name
11:56
B. Depends on the deal. If you're coasting to a title, I'm definitely letting everyone know that I'm open for business. But only to the right deal, not just a deal. It'a a good spot to be in, and one that should be leveraged

Lost Angeles

The Lost Angeles Angels didn't trade Kenley Jansen. Will he be their closer next year, or, at long last, will the jobn belong to Reid Detmers?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:57
The Angels remain hilariously foolish
so, yeah, they'll probably sign Jansen to a 5 year extension in a week
11:58
don't try and bait me with Reid Detmers talk

Devito or Schwarzenegger?
11:59
Are you taking shots on any of the new Twins semi-tarnished prospects Abel, Taj, Roden?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:59
I still like Bradley and think he's stashable
If he can ever figure out how to get through the lineup once without damage, he'll be something
Ay's

I know you've been periodically interested in Ginn and Perkins. Where are you now?
Nicklaus Gaut
12:01
My interest in Perkins ended about the time he moved to the rotation
Ginn still useful, as long as he's keeping the walks down
bad in april - lots of walks
12:02
good in may, june, july - very few walks
five walks to Arizona ended predictably
Toronto Blue Jays
12:04
do we hold onto the AL East?  Sub-par run differential compared to the rest of the division says it’s no sure thing.
Nicklaus Gaut
12:04
I'm not sure they do
September schedule is rough

Speaking of regret - Tigers regretting that Scott Harris is ummmmmm..  ‘afraid’ to make a major trade?  Tigers needed a lot more than he provided… yes?
Nicklaus Gaut
12:05
100%
Would not be super happy if I were a Tigers fan

Correa or Jung for ROS?  Dynasty?  Thank You
Nicklaus Gaut

Jung Dynasty

Has Vaughn suddenly become the player experts thought he would be when first starting out? Also, what are your thoughts on Locklear taking the first base job and running with it long-term for Arizona?
Nicklaus Gaut
12:06
too early to tell completely, but we've seen the good version before (though, I was always kind of a hater from the jump)
12:07
there is a non-zero chance that the White Sox simply sucked out his baseball soul and now he just has it back
RAGBRAI
12:08
Anything new on Crews? Seems like his rehab assignment is over a week old now. I realize he was out for a bit. Left in AAA or activated soon?
Nicklaus Gaut
12:08
rehabs been fine but they're not rushing anything
I'd say he's still a week out
Wayne

I picked up Christian Javier and stashed him on my bench. Now I read he’s being activated Monday. How confident are you in him? Should I leave him on the pine?
