The Brice/Oswaldo/Richie triumvirate would be the best bets
I'd probably go Richie
Raul
1:21
Who is the higher ranked 1B by the end of the season: Naylor or Alonso
Nicklaus Gaut
1:21
Pete
Raul
1:22
Should we be worried about Ketel Marte's slow start?
Nicklaus Gaut
1:22
nah, not yet
1:23
he's a summer guy - off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure his Aprils are generally poor
This or that
1:24
Thank you for the chat. 3 OF, CI and MI league. Manzardo was cut and I have Torkelson. Like Manzardo in general but he's shown nothing and Torkelson is at least walking (18%). Cut Tork for Manzardo?
Nicklaus Gaut
1:24
yeah, definitely
Jack Flaherty
1:25
I think I'm getting off the train. Would you cut for McCullers or Mize (both on waivers). Thanks.
Nicklaus Gaut
1:26
McCullers until his elbow inevitably explodes, at which point, pick Flaherty back up
I sing of arms and of troubles
1:27
Hi! Could you rank (or pick a couple favorites from) these arms: Matz, Cecconi, Kay, Jack Kochanowicz, Lauer, Arrighetti?
Nicklaus Gaut
1:27
Cecconi is my favorite
Rank the rest as:
1:28
Matz > Arrighetti > Kay > Lauer > Koch
Going 2 C'ed

Trying to fill the Kirk shaped hole in my life. OBP league. Any preference among these guys? Heineman, Garver, d'Arnaud, Jake Rogers, Wynns, Fedduccia, Escarra, Valenzuela?
Nicklaus Gaut
1:29
gross
Heineman if you force me
Kirk crushed so many OBP teams
Harry Ford
1:29
Why isn't Ford the starting catcher? The Nats are a strange organization.
Nicklaus Gaut
1:30
One of these days y'all will believe me -- the Nationals clearly sold their souls for a championship and have been cursed ever since
Cantilevered
1:31
Do you believe in Joey Cantillo? (Not like is he a ghost but like is he a good pitcher?) He’s looked alright so far, but the control seems ready to disappear (GHOST!) at any moment. Better to go with a higher floor/lower ceiling guy like Anthony Kay?
Nicklaus Gaut
1:31
lol
1:32
I'm a beliver in getting on board with young Cleveland starters who seem to be better than we thought they would be
I stopped doubting their voodoo a long time ago
Josh Smith fan club
1:33
Is the Josh Smith starter experiment coming to an end in Texas? .  Is his leash long enough to get passed the slump to begin the season?
Nicklaus Gaut
1:33
yeah, I still think he has some leash left
1:34
he'll be back to batting .250 before you know it
Michael
1:35
It looks like Stowers is on the path to returning soon. I’m stacked at pitching and infield, but OF is my weakness. Currently have Frelick, Kwan, Robert Jr and Hariss II. Who are you dropping to accommodate Stowers?
Nicklaus Gaut
1:35
Frelick is gone-zo
Sultan of Sling
1:35
Good morning. Is Max Muncy of the Athletics one of the most undervalued fantasy players? I know there are strike outs, but he seems to always be hitting for extra bases.
Nicklaus Gaut
1:36
currently, yes, and a .255 ISO is fairly ridic
1:37
But the long-term profile is dicey, and I'm not just talking about the correction coming from a .448 BABIP
Big-time whiffers who can't take walks tend to bottom out quicky
RAGBRAI

Is it fair to say it takes until mid May for pitching and batting stats to stabilize? At that point is it fair r to look at alternate options. I knew sometimes players tank for two months or more and then turn it around.
Nicklaus Gaut
1:39
ish -- from a technical standpoint, it depends on what stats you're talking about
1:40
the fastest (that I find most useful), is K% and BB% (for both batters and hitters)
1:41
I think that reasonable, in a general sense, but I take things on more a case-by-case
IE what is the bad start powered by?
RAGBRAI
1:43
I have a nice lead in SB thanks in part to Nunez and D Hamilton. Do I need to worry about either losing bats any time soon or getting demoted?
