I definitely think the turnaround is worth paying attention to, and as a spec add that you might be dropping in two weeks, he's a fine  gamble
but if you have a premium bench situation, that gamble is tougher

I have sufficient closers to trade Cade Smith. What level of hitter or starting pitcher is a reasonable return?  I've been offered Sonny Gray on the starting pitcher side and Mickey Moniak on the hitting side. I believe Smith's value requires a greater return on the hitting side than Moniak.  I can use outfield help.

Oh, I'd be aiming for much much higher

a premium RP that might put your competition over the top, needs a premium price
don't sell short just because is value is more expendable to your situation.
Grade the Trade / Holds Thoughts

Hi Nicklaus. Grade the trade. I’m in 12-team rotisserie keeper league w/ holds. I sent Dominguez (Chisox) for Whitlock (Bosox). My other closers are Miller, Fairbanks & Latz. My holds guys are Rogers (TOR) @ Winn (SF). If you don’t like my holds guys, any hot below the radar guys?

My apologies...
Don't love the trade. Would rather have Dominguez

Follow up: Barring unforseen unfortunate circumstances (aka crazy injury bad luck), I will be duking it out for the division lead with the guy I would be trading Sale + McClanahan to. So in addition to evaluating if the trade is fair, and if it's beneficial or detrimental to my team, I also need to weigh which team it puts over the top. Attached is how we compare in each category as of the end of the Week 6 matchup (10 is 1st, 1 is last)

Yeah, then I'm definitely not making that trade, Kingkiller
Now, about these Hands of Stone...

Hi Nick, in a 12 team points league I was offered Ian Happ for Parker Messick. Think I need to hug my pitchers in this market though? Sidenote question- Baty or Bazzana at the keystone? Thanks!!!
Nicklaus Gaut
1:21
Happ is better on paper but it would depend on the state of your staff

12 team redraft points, our entire league has given up on Duran and he sits on waivers (it was me who drafted and dropped him a few weeks ago). agree?
Nicklaus Gaut

been so brutal
but enough value to snag as a lotto tick if you have the room
multi-hit in three of his last four!
that's something, right???
1:23
I have him on two deep team
pity me

What’s your take on Davis Martin? Can he sustain this all season or do I sell high?  We start four starting pitchers and I also have Wheeler, Ryan, McClanahan, Fried, Tolle, and Early. 13 team league.

has to be added at this point

was checking something on savant
Slider has been even nastier than I thought
53% Whiff%
and his four-seamer (unsurprisingly) is also up eight points.

Need yet another catcher in my AL Only obp league with Jeffers down. Romo or Garver?
Nicklaus Gaut

I imagine my mentioning it will put an end to it, but Zack Littell has been pitching pretty well of late- no?

And why is B Eldridge up if he is going to sit so much? What point are the Giants making-other than to make BE feel slighted?

Finally, how long to the Cardinals play V Scott for his defense while watching him rack up league-leading hitting futility numbers?
Nicklaus Gaut
1:28
He has been better in his last four, can't be denied
1:29
but also 24 runs (18 ER) in his previous three
so his 5.8 ERA is probably back to being about right
Scott's probably still has a long leash, given the D
but they can only let it get so bad
