Nah, I don't think he can be that fortunate on home runs or on balls in play again this season. Doesn't need to be to justify the contract, though.

Jose Reyes. I thought this was gonna set a tone for future domestic violence. Still waiting on a verdict from the commish nearly six months later. When will we finally hear? Is this what we can expect on a future case during a season?

I don't think you can really blame Manfred for the length of time. He thought Reyes was going to be going to trial and wanted the criminal proceedings to wrap up before making a final call. I'd imagine there will be some discipline in the near future.

25? Seven in the first week is a fun narrative, but he K'ed at a 25% clip in the minors last season and 35% the year before. At some point there's going to be some kind of prolonged slump, and he was never projected as some kind of 40-homer monster or anything.
