Steve Adams

Chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat time. Let's go.
Bork
3:47
Hello friend!
Steve Adams
3:47
Hello! We're off to a cordial start today. Excellent.
Josh
3:47
When will Tyler Glasnow get called up?
Steve Adams
3:48
Bucs always seem to factor both service time and Super Two into their prospect decisions, so I'd be pretty surprised to see Glasnow before mid-June.
Trevor
3:48
Will Lincecum ever sign?
Steve Adams
3:49
I'm not entirely convinced that he hasn't just secretly retired but still kept up a charade about a phantom showcase that'll never happen, just as a means of trolling people.

I'm sure he'll sign at some point, but when is anyone's guess when the showcase has been delayed by somewhere in the neighborhood of three months now.
I'm a Lincecum fan and hope he makes a comeback, but if not, we'll always have this GIF: http://cdn0.sbnation.com/imported_assets/1381173/BlurHurrHurr_medium.gif
Trevor
3:50
Is Mazara up for good?
Steve Adams
3:51
If he keeps hitting, I don't know how they can send him down. He's not going to hit .350 obviously, but even when the BABIP comes back down to work, his K/BB numbers have been so encouraging that it seems like he'll still be a quality outfield option. I think he has to stay up, barring a complete collapse at the plate.
Trevor
3:51
Would Jordan Lyles be an effective starter if he pitched for any team other than the Rockies?
Steve Adams
3:53
Well, he wasn't for the Astros. But he was also rushed to the Majors. I do think he can be a serviceable fourth/fifth starter elsewhere, though it's not like his value is sky-high at the moment if the Rockies were going to entertain moving him. (Nor should the Rockies consider the notion of trading any living, breathing pitcher with a pulse. They need as many of those as they can get.)
Tyler
3:53
Any word on Heaney?
Steve Adams
3:54
Another MRI on him showed that nothing's worsened and there's no additional injury to the flexor strain. But he's still not throwing, so I wouldn't get my hopes up about him pitching anytime in May.
James
3:55
Who has the brighter future - Christian Vasquez or Blake Swihart?
Steve Adams
3:56
Swihart, for me. I wouldn't make a big fuss if you prefer Vazquez's glove because it's more of a sure thing than Swihart's bat, but the guy who projects to hit more is likelier to have the bigger career.
Josh
3:57
Has Taijuan Walker finally arrived as Seattle's future ace?
Steve Adams
3:58
He's been really, really, really good so far this season and not in an overly fluky kind of way. I'd be more concerned about his ability to stay off the DL than his ability to pitch when healthy.
Grayson
3:58
Why don't you just pick a couple easy questions and rattle them off with one word answers like Jeff does?
Steve Adams
3:58
Oops.
Conn
3:58
If Berrios is up for 2016 good... Ballpark project his numbers.
Steve Adams
3:58
160ish innings, mid-3.00s ERA, 8-something K/9 with good control
Trevor Story
3:59
what do u expect from me the rest of the year stats wise??
Steve Adams
4:00
Not much. It was a fun little burst, but a guy striking out in nearly 40% of his PAs isn't going to do all that well over an extended period without enormous power, and Story's early surge notwithstanding, he doesn't have that. I could see him hitting around .220 with 15-20 HR the rest of the way
Ryan
4:01
Is Derek Norris and Tyson Ross enough to get Joey Gallo?
Steve Adams
4:01
I don't think so... not with Ross' shoulder having blown up and him missing what's going to end up being close to two months even in a best-case scenario.
Ish Kabibble jr
4:02
Is the firing squad marching or running towards Fredi Gonzalez?
Steve Adams
4:02
I get asked about Fredi more than every other manager combined, and the answer's always the same: Braves front office loves the guy despite the apparent disdain from some of the more vocal fans. I don't think he's going anywhere, and I think he'll be managing in the new park next year.
Grayson
4:03
Why haven't we see nearly as many players go down with TJS this year than we've had previous years?
Steve Adams
4:04
If I knew the definitive answer to that, I'd be making a whole lot more money and working for a big league team (or maybe the Mayo Clinic or something). I'd love to see some theories on it, but even those would be, well, theoretical.

Is baseball, on and off the field, more or less enjoyable than it was 5 years ago, 10 years ago?
Steve Adams
4:06
I think the rise of social media and increase in quality baseball reporting has made it more fun to follow off the field than it was 10 years ago. On the field, it's been consistently a joy for me to watch. Some would probably argue that collision rules have made it less enjoyable, but I don't agree with that.
Mat Latos
4:06
Do I get a QO if the White Sox don't trade me at the deadline?
Steve Adams
4:07
I don't think he's going to keep pitching well enough for it to even be much of a debate. Velocity and Ks at an all-time low -- crazy unsustainable BABIP and home run rate. Plus he's a huge injury risk, so that could get in the way of a QO as well.
Jake
4:07
Which division leader do you have the least amount of faith in?
Steve Adams
4:09
The Orioles' rotation is still terrible. I don't think they're anywhere near the best team in the AL East.
Jerome
4:09
If Nolasco continued to pitch this well into June and July, would there be any takers for him or would teams still be leery of him?
Steve Adams
4:10
The contract isn't really that bad if he's healthy. Hell, it's not bad at all if he's in the mid-3.00s with decent control and a handful of strikeouts. If he makes 12-15 more good starts, I think he'd have some modest trade value to a team just looking to add some solid innings to the mix.

Eugenio Suárez (CIN, SS-UTIL) or Aledmys Díaz (STL, SS)
Steve Adams
4:10
For fantasy purposes? Suarez.
