I can't imagine why they would refuse to sell high on him at this point. But, then again, I've thought the Twins should sell high on plenty of people in the past and watched them neglect to do so.

Nunez seems like an easy call though, yes, and there'd be plenty of interest in him given the array of positions he can play. He's having a more productive season than Yunel Escobar at a fraction of the price and without all of the clubhouse concerns. (Rather the opposite, it seems; he's quite well liked in MN)

I'd rather hang onto the guy who is healthy and productive right now than the catcher/outfielder that no one thought could catch in the first place who is coming off a massive knee injury

That's not to say I don't like Schwarber, for the record, but Baez means more to the Cubs right now when they're trying to make a World Series run.

I don't really know what choice they have with Fielder. I can't imagine them just cutting bait on that contract even if his performance calls for it. Moreland hasn't been good, but he's at least hitting at a reasonably competent level against right-handed pitching. The pitching staff needs more work right now than the lineup.

I have to imagine he'll garner interest in both the infield and the outfield. His preference seemed to be shortstop this offseason, but who knows if he's still feeling that after a full year on the outfield grass? He may have taken a liking to it.

Probably something Astros fans and execs think on a regular basis. Bryant+Correa in the middle of the lineup for years to come would've been preposterous.

Nothing to indicate talks have been serious to this point, but the two sides have absolutely talked. John Coppolella said so himself last Friday that he's called Preller about Myers on more than one occasion this year.

He's probably one of the three best catchers in Major League Baseball and he's being paid like a slightly better version of Brayan Pena. His trade value is rightfully through the roof.

Updates on Steven Matz from NY media: He'll try to delay surgery for his bone spur until the offseason as it'd come with a three-month recovery period. Not exactly ideal for the Mets.

Ha. I'm on Fangraphs, Baseball Reference and Roster Resource constantly (and was even before we acquired RR). Hardball Times has a lot of good content. Baseball Savant's Statcast data is great, Brooks Baseball is invaluable.. there are too many. Also, it occurs to me that I spend WAY too much time looking at baseball.

I'd say that 95% of the time or so I at least know a little about the guy, but there have been some pretty obscure names DFAed from the Reds this season due to their bullpen carousel!

If they felt they were truly priced out, I doubt they'd have taken the time to host a private workout for him in Port St. Lucie yesterday. I wouldn't call them a favorite for him, but I'd imagine they'll be connected to him until he signs.

Certainly not a lack of resources. Mike Ilitch has no regard for spending money. It does seem that the international market hasn't traditionally been a huge focus for them, although Dave Dombrowski was reportedly willing to go $40MM on Rusney Castillo when he was with the Tigers, so be grateful that the Sox dwarfed that bid.

When Dylan Bundy gets the chance in Baltimore, will it be the long awaited start of great things?

They won't give him a shot as a starter until next season, and I think that's the right call given his injury history. I don't really have any confidence that he'll stay healthy at this point, but it's encouraging that his velocity has gotten stronger as the season's gone on. If he ends up as a power reliever, not the worst outcome for a guy who looked like he could be toast not that long ago.

Chapman commands more than Vogelbach. But, Vogelbach should get traded somewhere so he can actually get a crack at the Majors at some point. An AL team makes the most sense.

The Chapman one doesn't look particularly great, yeah. Not sure where Rookie Davis' strikeouts went, and Jagielo has been absolutely awful thus far.
