Welcome. We'll have nothing to talk about tonight, will we?

What do you think Coras punishment will be? or should be?
Connor Byrne
6:08
There's reportedly "harsh" punishment coming for the Red Sox manager, so maybe a year or half-year suspension? I really don't know. Frankly, I didn't think Jeff Luhnow or AJ Hinch would get the suspensions they got (and then fired on top of it). What a stunning day.

Who are some bargain relievers and outfielders that could be on the cost conscious Tribe's radar?
Connor Byrne
6:10
Pedro Strop and Collin McHugh come to mind on the relief market, and I'm sure I'm leaving others out. As for outfielders, there isn't much after Castellanos and Ozuna. Maybin? Pillar?

Reds get Seager? Odds
Connor Byrne
6:12
They don't seem that great to me. Why should the Dodgers deal Corey Seager if they're not getting Francisco Lindor in a separate trade? That seems unlikely to me, by the way. The Dodgers clearly value depth, so they could keep Seager and still find ways to fit him and Gavin Lux into their regular lineup.

how much do you think the suspensions/terminations will effect the win total for Houston and Presumably Boston
Connor Byrne
6:13
I'm planning a poll on this very topic. The punishments handed to Luhnow and Hinch clearly cast a pall on the organization as a whole. At the same time, the Astros remain very talented (thanks largely to Luhnow). I still expect 95-plus wins.

If you're the Dodgers, do you feel like you were cheated out of a title?
Connor Byrne
6:14
I'm guessing they feel that way to some extent, but I'm glad MLB didn't "strip" the Astros of a title. That always feels so useless to me when it happens in NCAA sports.

Over/under 3.5 Girardi ejections this season?
Connor Byrne
6:14
Over. Girardi goes nuts when the situation warrants it.

What’s the latest on Josh Donaldson?  And is he likely to get anything approaching 4 years/$110 million?
Connor Byrne
6:16
Doesn't seem like anyone wants to pay a 34-year-old 4/110. Can't say I blame them. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/01/assessing-the-state-of-the-josh...

Do you think twins could possibly get in on an Arenado trade?
Connor Byrne
6:17
It would make sense to me, but I don't know if they want to take on a 7/234 contract (probably not). And Arenado has a full no-trade clause, so who knows if he'd waive it to go to the Twins.

Let’s assume that Cora will be out in Boston.  Who would they turn to as a manager?
Connor Byrne
6:18
If this happens (I'd be shocked if it did), maybe their bench coach, Ron Roenicke, as a Band-Aid. He has past managerial experience.

Can the Cards afford both Arredondo and Ozuna?
Connor Byrne
6:20
They can "afford" it, but whether ownership wants to spend to that extent is the question. I don't see both to STL. If you're a Cards fan and they get Arenado, be thrilled about it. Ozuna, meh.
Al Avila
6:20
Should we sign Yasiel Puig even if it means $$$ and 2 years?
Connor Byrne
6:21
(Tigers GM Al Avila) - Sure, why not? The Tigers aren't winning in the next two years, but I'd still rather see a team spend than not.
Mets
6:21
will Lunhow and Hinch be running the Marlins in 2021?
Connor Byrne
6:22
I don't see a team hiring the two of them to work together. Bad optics, as they say.
Happ
6:22
Still think I’m on the movie before spring training?
Connor Byrne
6:23
I've never been banking on it. Depends on how much $ the Yankees want to eat. They could just keep him as a No. 5 and have Montgomery as depth.
Baseball Pickers
6:23
What is the generally agreed upon $/WAR figure league wide?  Asking for Iván Nova.
Connor Byrne
6:23
I believe it's $8MM. Perhaps that has changed since last time I checked.

Odds that the Cardinals pull off an Arenado trade?!?
Connor Byrne
6:26
You're one of many to ask this question so far. I don't know, not great. Would they take on 7/234 AND give up significant assets? Colorado's not just giving Arenado away. The 7/234 isn't as concerning to me as the latter point, as we've seen STL willing to take on G. Stanton's $ in recent years.
Eppler
6:26
Am i done getting pitching or am i waiting for spring training to play out?
Connor Byrne
6:27
I'm sure you'll keep trying until then, Angels GM Billy Eppler, but who's giving it up. Doesn't seem the Tigers are dealing Matt Boyd. Maybe Colorado will deal Jon Gray if it decides to move on from Arenado in a separate deal.
(and maybe I can say deal/dealing a couple more times)

6:28
Why don’t the Dodgers trade a lefty bat and sign a free agent like Marcel Ozuna or Nicholas Castellanos to play left field?
Connor Byrne
6:28
You're getting answered. Maybe the Dodgers just aren't enamored enough of either player. I'm not.
Kyle Shanahan

49ers or Packers
Connor Byrne
6:29
To the chagrin of MLBTR's resident Packers fan, Mark Polishuk, the 49ers
Jim
6:29
Have you heard anything about Springer wanting to leave? My stepdaughter said that but I can't find any references.
Connor Byrne
6:30
No, but maybe in the wake of today's news, players will start wanting out of Houston (or maybe they won't care at all)
