Why no postseason ban for Astros? $5 million fine is nothing and loss of draft picks does nothing but possibly hurt the farm system in 3-5 years. A solid current roster and postseason eligibility means they’ll probably keep on winning
Connor Byrne
6:32
How do you ban a team from the postseason? This isn't NCAA. It seems impossible to me in a pro spot. The Astros' ban isn't "nothing." Along with the picks and the money, they lost an excellent GM-manager tandem.

Who gets another position first: Hinch or Luhnow?
Connor Byrne
6:33
I'd hire either of them a year from now, but Hinch helped himself more today with the statement he issued (and the one after Taubman's suspension). Luhnow seems kind of tonedeaf.
Nick
6:33
How does the entire Astros investigation start and end before KB’s simple service time grievance? Honestly ridiculous
Connor Byrne
6:34
Yeah, this has dragged on for long enough, especially considering the expectation has always been that Kris Bryant will lose his service-time grievance.

LSU or clemson

Geaux Coach O.

If the Dodgers do trade Seager to Cincy is it reasonable to hope either Senzel or Suarez is coming back in the deal?
Connor Byrne
6:35
I don't see Suarez going back, but Senzel's a reasonable ask.
Reds fan
6:35
Could the reds get Trevor Story?
Connor Byrne
6:35
If the Rockies actually deal Arenado, they should consider moving just about everyone, including Story, and the Reds are a good fit as a landing spot.

Where does Realmuto hit in Philly's lineup next year, 2nd or 6th? Are they going to extend him or what?
Connor Byrne
6:37
I continue to expect an extension, but I'm not in love with hitting him second. He's never been a massive OBP guy.
Braves
6:38
Am i the only braves fan in the world that hopes we DONT sign JD. Guys just dont stay good after 34 in the post ped era
Connor Byrne
6:38
Probably not, and you're not crazy to think that way. His age is a legit concern.
Bringer of rain
6:39
Am i signing for less than 90
Connor Byrne
6:39
I think I said around 90 in our most recent chat a couple weeks ago. Something around 100 or more has always seemed excessive to me.
Robbie Rayl
6:40
Am I getting moved?
Connor Byrne
6:41
At this point, I doubt it. The D-backs have made win-now moves this offseason, and dealing Ray wouldn't help them in that regard. They can reassess at the deadline if necessary.

Do you even mknow anything about baseball? Or do you make things up?
Connor Byrne
6:41
What's "baseball"?
Billy Eppler
6:42
Does Mike Trout like me? Or am I getting fired soon?
Connor Byrne
6:42
Make-or-break year. Either the Angels make real progress or GM Billy Eppler's done.
Bryant's agent
6:43
Who decides when the Bryant decision gets released?  MLB or the arbitor?
Connor Byrne
6:44
I'm guessing the arbitor, who at last check was still deciding. Can't see MLB screwing the Cubs by getting the decision and then sitting on it for a while. He is, after all, a major trade candidate.
Hinch
6:44
If a player gets suspended a year it doesn't start until he is on a roster.... why is it different with Hinch? (I know it won't happened), but Houston could resign him next year.
Connor Byrne
6:45
He'll never manage the Astros again; otherwise, they wouldn't have fired him.
Jon Daniels
6:45
Can I still go get Arenado after signing Todd Frazier?
Connor Byrne
6:46
Yes, Rangers GM JD, if the team's willing to give up the money/assets. Todd Frazier's not blocking Nolan Arenado.
Kip fan
6:46
Does Jason Kipnis play in the major leagues in 2020?
Connor Byrne
6:46
I'll be shocked if he doesn't
Dodgers Nation
6:46
Are the Dodgers ever going to make the big move that finally puts them over the top? I like our team building strategy but I feel it can be too conservative at times.
Connor Byrne
6:48
Well, they got Machado and Darvish at recent deadlines, and have been after guys like Betts and Lindor this offseason. The willingness is there on LAD's part, but there's no need to rush into anything at this moment. They're still the class of the NL West (and maybe the NL in general) and could just wait things out until the summer.
Parker
6:49
Bruce Bochy is retired we all know but didn’t slam the door shut.  He is widely respected around the game both on/off the field. Seems like they could use him down in Houston.  Do you think it’s a realistic possibility?
Connor Byrne
6:49
I don't know what Houston's thought process is, whether they want to hire from within or outside, but he's a guy I'd consider in their position.
Starling the other Marte
6:50
Looking like I'm sticking around in Pittsburgh.
Connor Byrne
6:51
I still expect a trade
John
6:51
Buck showalter to Houston?
Connor Byrne
6:51
Many have asked this. Again, if the Astros want to go outside for a respected Hinch successor, Buck should be on the list.
