Is it going to annoy you when Ortiz gets into the Hall before either Bonds or Clemens?
Connor Byrne
7:05
No, because I think Big Papi should be in there, too
The Final Boss
7:06
I'm personally down on the Mets because they are infinitely more susceptible to wild boar attack than any other team in the NL East.
Connor Byrne
7:06
You can't argue with the facts.
MadBum
7:06
Will the loser on Betts sign Puig?
Connor Byrne
7:07
Don't think they're related. Betts > Puig by miles and miles and miles...
Jack
7:07
Diamondbacks now have the edge over the Dodgers, right? Wild card for sure!
Connor Byrne
7:07
No. Still the Dodgers' division to win, but the D-backs are indeed good.
Austin Riley
7:08
Why am I not considered the favorite to be the opening day 3B?
Connor Byrne
7:08
It's you or Camargo. I'd take my chances with you.
CubsFan7
7:09
if you had to guess rn who is winning the world series
Connor Byrne
7:09
the Yankees
Rob Manfred
7:09
What should i set as the salary cap and salary floor?
Connor Byrne
7:10
No salary cap. I'd need to look at the payrolls from last season to determine a floor. I don't know the lowest ones off the top of my head.
fascinating
7:10
order of likelihood : Betts to SD, Betts to LAD, Betts to AZ, Betts stays put
Connor Byrne
7:11
SD, LA, BOS, AZ would be my guess
check that - SD, BOS, LA, AZ

Is Nimmo extremely overrated? Despite his .387 career OBP, his 162 game average is 78 runs a season. That's terrible for a leadoff hitter.
Connor Byrne
7:12
no. I'm a fan on-base machines who have a career 130 wRC+
Good for the goose
7:13
If there is no cap, why should there be a floor?
Connor Byrne
7:13
To discourage teams from sitting on their hands when they should be making some sort of effort.

In 2025 Ichiro gets _____ votes for the Hall.
Connor Byrne
7:14
You're a Hall of Famer or you're not, and Ichiro is. Don't know why voters feel the need to be difficult and leave obvious choices off the ballot (as in that one person with Jeter this year).

7:15
What does a realistic return from the padres look like in Betts deal Quantrill,Margot and Campusano and half of Meyers contrat.
Connor Byrne
7:15
If the Pads can get Betts for that, do it.
Ozuna
7:16
Did I just like the situation so much in Atlanta that I took a pillow contract there? After seeing what Nick C got, I may be switching agents...
Connor Byrne
7:16
Funny thing is that Ozuna used to be a Boras client. I wonder what he'd have gotten had he stayed with Boras. Anyway, there was a report the other day saying Ozuna turned down multiyear offers. I don't think there was any hint at the value of those deals, though.
Ordinary Joe
7:17
Is the Castellanos contract a shocker?
Connor Byrne
7:17
Possibly relative to the calendar & the deal Ozuna just settled for, but we did have him at 4/58 entering the winter.
Fronzel Neekburm
7:17
Are the White Sox actually done with signings? Bullpen? Is there someone they should go for?
Connor Byrne
7:18
GM Rick Hahn said the other day there's nothing else "major" coming, but it wouldn't hurt to scour the relief market
Chaim B.
7:18
If Red Sox traded betts what would be the best next move to get under the cap?
Connor Byrne
7:19
JBJ continues to stick out as a realistic trade candidate if the Sox want to get under the luxury tax
AJ Preller
7:19
If a traded for Mookie, what would be my chances of resigning him?
Connor Byrne
7:20
Not great, Padres GM AJP, at least not before he hits the market. Betts has said time and agaiin he wants to test free agency.
Gashouse Gorilla
7:21
What about a variant of a hard floor?  Teams don't have to spend, but if they don't, they forfeit a percentage of their Revenue Sharing.
Connor Byrne
7:21
I'd take that over the current setup.
Corey
7:21
Call me crazy - but if Jeter played for the Royals, would he have left as great of an impact on the game? And would he have been a first ballot HOFer?
Connor Byrne
7:23
No to the first question. The Royals still wouldn't have been good, and KC obviously isn't NY. Part of the mystique for Jeter was being a Yankee and shining in the playoffs. That said, had his production been the same as a Royal, he'd have deserved to be a first-ballot HOFer. Doesn't mean he would have been, considering how a lot of these voters do things (it took Larry Walker forever to get in).

What sort of post injury performance do you expect for Andrew McCutchen?
