Hey everyone. There's plenty to discuss with the playoffs going on and free agency/trades about to begin. We'll get underway in a couple of minutes.

If the Braves win the WS, does that likely increase the odds that Freeman takes a "hometown discount" when its time to discuss an extension?
Connor Byrne
4:13
I can't tell you Freeman's thinking, but I don't think it should have much of an effect. He's coming off what should be an MVP season, possibly a WS-winning season, and has had an amazing career so far. He should be in position to max out financially (whatever that means for what will then be a 32-year-old first baseman) before 2022.

Is Stroman a realistic target for the white sox?
Connor Byrne
4:14
Yes, though Stroman's a realistic target for a ton of teams. We at MLBTR have spent the past couple weeks discussing his free-agent case after sitting out a season. We're still not exactly sure how much he'll get, but he'll be reasonably priced enough for the White Sox to be in there if they want a surer complement for Giolito and Keuchel.

Do you wait if or until Cohen is approved before putting out your top 50 free agent predictions?
Connor Byrne
4:15
I don't think that's going to affect when the rankings come out, but the Cohen factor has come up quite a bit in talks.

When can we actually hope to know if DH will be in the national league for 2021? I know GM's are anxious to know too.
Connor Byrne
4:16
We're anxious to know, too. It has an effect on how we do our FA rankings.
HR by soon-to-be coveted free agent George Springer. Anyway....

Will the twins try for Stroman or Bauer?
Connor Byrne
4:18
I don't really see it. Their rotation looks decent right now, and they're obviously not massive spenders, so it could be a decent back-end type like Rich Hill last year.
maybe I'll use the word "decent" again"

I'm not doing much this off-season right?
Connor Byrne
4:20
This being the Cardinals' John Mozeliak. They need to at least make some sort of changes to their offense. We love DJ LeMahieu there if they want to spend and are looking for a 2B, but it seems Kolten Wong will be back. OF is a need, though, so maybe someone like Joc Pederson if Springer's out of the question. They also have questions at catcher and SP, but expectations are that Molina and Wainwright will return

yes or No , Tony Larissa returns to manage.
Connor Byrne
4:21
I don't know why you fire Rick Renteria just to bring in Tony La Russa. To me, it has to be someone like Hinch or Cora.
No disrespect to TLR, but he hasn't managed in a long time.
Hensley Meulens
4:22
When do I get a managing job in the major leagues?
Connor Byrne
4:22
Great question. I've been waiting for that for a while. He's an accomplished assistant who, I believe, speaks five languages. You'd think someone would give him a shot, but no dice so far.

As Yankees fan, what move should I be hoping the Red Sox DO NOT make this winter?
Connor Byrne
4:23
I think you need to be more worried about the Rays and Blue Jays for a little while longer. Boston's a ways off and probably won't be that active this winter.
JT Realmuto
4:24
I know I will generate a lot of interest this off-season. Where do you see me ending up, Connor?
Connor Byrne
4:25
the Mets, but the Phillies, Yankees, Cardinals and Nats are some other realistic suitors
Shane
4:26
Are you a football fan?
Connor Byrne
4:26
Yes. I'm still reeling from the Bills' 42-16 loss on Tuesday.

4:27
Anyone you think takes a QO that you think receives one?
Connor Byrne
4:27
Guys like Gausman and Stroman are possibilities. Hendriks if the A's give him one, but that may be too risky on their part.
Connor Turkey Byrne
4:28
Could Trevor Story or Michael Conforto be trade targets for the Cardinals?
Connor Byrne
4:29
I don't see the Mets moving Conforto. Story's a trade candidate, but that would probably require the Cards to shift DeJong to 2B. Would they do that? I don't know. He does have a bit of experience there.
Nelson Cruz
4:29
Do i end up resigning with Twins?
Connor Byrne
4:30
My guess is yes. I don't see any reason for the Twins to bail on Cruz on what will be a short-term deal. He'll get a raise, but not too much because of his age.

Who is a more likely target for the W Sox between Trevor Bauer and George Springer?
Connor Byrne
4:31
Springer
imagine him joining an outfield with Eloy and Robert
Clark

Great work MLBTR did on the arb projections!  Chances the Cubs non-tender Kris Bryant?  $18.6 is heavy for recent production.
Connor Byrne
4:32
Thanks! Matt Swartz can't be topped in that field. Bryant won't be a non-tender. He's either a Cub or he's traded.
Ray-Ray
4:33
Do you see the Rays spending more with the success, or a fire sale?
Connor Byrne
4:33
Probably not much more, if at all. They're not a team that has come up much in our FA discussions. We do think Morton will stay there, but for a lesser deal than his $15MM option.
