Connor Byrne
3:14
Hey everyone. We'll get underway in the next couple minutes.
Rocky Balboa
3:16
What’s the percent chance that you think the Phillies will sign Jake Odorizzi?
Connor Byrne
3:17
I don't think the chance is that high unless the Phillies want to go over the luxury tax. I believe they're about $9MM from exceeding it. Toronto still looks like the best Odorizzi fit to me.
Mitch Keller
3:18
The Bucs maybe terrible this year, but mark it down I will not be
Connor Byrne
3:18
I don't think you will be either. Keller and K'Bryan Hayes are a couple guys who give Pirates fans some hope during what should be another awful year for the team.
3:19
*who could give
Jb
3:19
Josh hader getting traded?
Connor Byrne
3:19
I don't see it happening before the season. Maybe if the Brewers are out of it at the deadline.
AA
3:20
Why am I waiting to sign Shane Greene?  Should be signed already, right??
Connor Byrne
3:20
AA = Braves GM Alex Anthopoulos. Yes, I'd bring him back from the Braves' standpoint. He probably isn't going to make more than a few million.
E6
3:21
When and where will Edwin Encarnacion sign?
Connor Byrne
3:22
I really don't know (depends in part on universal DH), but I don't think he deserves any more than a minor league deal at this point. Some non-contender could bring EE in, hope he goes back to raking, and then try to flip him at the deadline if he does.
Brandon Hyde
3:22
do Harvey and Felix make my club out of Spring ?
Connor Byrne
3:23
Well, if Harvey and Hernandez can't make that team, it's probably a sign to hang it up.
"that team" being the Orioles

Have you ever told someone you just got byrned
Connor Byrne
3:24
I have not. Could be a missed opportunity on my part.
Curious
3:24
If you were starting a franchise in fantasy draft format and held the number 2 pick — who do you take, assuming Trout was taken at number 1.
Connor Byrne
3:25
Off the very top of my head, wouldn't it be hard to pass on Soto? He was the best hitter in the game last season on a per-PA basis and is only 22.
Giants Hopeful
3:26
With all these little moves the Giants are making, do you see them making a jump
Connor Byrne
3:27
I don't mind what the Giants have done, but the Dodgers and Padres are still way above them. Could see the Giants playing .500 ball or thereabouts. I don't think they're quite ready to become serious contenders.
Hopeful Twins Fan
3:27
Any chance twins sign back odo?
Connor Byrne
3:28
Yes. If the price is reasonable enough, I don't think the Twins would let Shoemaker/Dobnak stand in the way of re-signing Odorizzi.
Jang Carrangers
3:29
Could you see either or both of the Royals and Tigers finishing above .500?
Connor Byrne
3:29
No, but I like the effort the Royals have put in this offseason.
Todd Gack
3:29
Does Cole Hamels get a ML contract?
Connor Byrne
3:30
"That's a nice name, Todd Gack. What is that, Dutch?" Yeah, I'm expecting a low-paying MLB deal for Hamels.
tim
3:31
how long will the mather stink stay attached to the mariners. long term damage?
Connor Byrne
3:32
I'm skeptical there will be long-term damage. How many people even knew who Mather was until a few days ago?
Jang Carrangers
3:32
Will Kelenic be starting Opening Day?
Connor Byrne
3:33
Speaking of the Mariners ... I think he's either in there on Opening Day or sometime later in the summer. The M's can't call Kelenic up right after the service-time manipulation date (whatever that is; not sure off the top of my head) or they'll look even worse.

Do the Phillies bring back Hamels?
Connor Byrne
3:34
They probably make as much sense as anyone.
Cubby fan
3:35
I am not watching any games if there is a universal DH. What is the chance I will know for sure before the first spring training game?
Connor Byrne
3:35
I don't know why you'd stop watching over that, but there's no deadline for a decision that I'm aware of. The whole thing has been handled very poorly.
Clubby Stapp
3:36
Do teams around the league value Cavan Biggio as highly as Toronto media/fans seem to?  Could he be a big part of a trade offer for an impact starter?
Connor Byrne
3:37
Yes to both questions. He's a 25-year-old who can hit, play multiple positions, and won't be a free agent until after 2025. There's a lot of value there.
Bob Sacamanto
3:38
If Aaron Judge plays 140 games this year, over/under 6 bWAR?
Connor Byrne
3:39
I'd probably take the under. Maybe around 5-5.5.
Jill
3:39
Can Cleveland win the AL central?
