I'd probably rather have the elite guy (Cole) than two good ones, though I guess it depends on the team in question. If you already have 1-2 ace types but the rest of your rotation is lousy, Wheeler/Ryu would be a reasonable route

Not sure where, but Rays, Angels, Astros, Reds, Braves spring to mind as just a few C-needy teams. Problem is that Hedges can't really hit.

I'd argue he's a No. 2 type right now. Is there more in the tank? Quite possibly. Could depend on which team signs him. Look at Cole when the Astros got him. He wasn't some all-world superstar at that moment.
