Re-signing Garcia seems doubtful in my mind, so I would guess their move would be to find the
next Avisail, i.e. another guy who might break out with a change of scenery and who could be signed for a relative discount.

A lot of their positions seem locked in....Adames, Urias, Wong, Yelich, and Tellez as the top 1B option.  I would say Cain but I wonder if he can be counted on as anything more than a part-time player.

It is, though the international signing market was so screwed up by the pandemic that I don't recall any teams moving much money in that last signing window

I think any number of teams would be willing to give him that opportunity.  Maybe some kind of incentive-loaded deal based on how many innings he pitches, or how many appearances he makes as a starter or as a reliever.  With these incentives in mind, Lorenzen might certainly find a multi-year contract, since a team always has the fallback of making him a reliever again

All players say this, but Scherzer has said he is loving it in L.A.  Given his performance and the Dodgers' winning ways, I have no reason to doubt him.

The Dodgers have the money to make a new deal happen, and I have to imagine they're pleased with what they've seen from Scherzer thus far.  I'd give it a 7.25/10 for the chances of a reunion

I highly suspect we'll see "robot umps" in the majors within the next five years, complete with using technology to make better calls on check swings

Arenado has already gone on record as saying he'll be sticking with his Cardinals contract, so no.  Plus, he'd have to make his option decision before free agency opens.

Semien's preference is to play shortstop, and i suspect he'll find a match of a shortstop-needy team willing to meet his asking price.

His ability to play second isn't a bad Plan B to have, but if anything, the Mariners might just move Crawford if they have a shot at landing Semien

They did win 100 games, and they could've beaten the Red Sox with a couple of breaks going their way.

But at a certain point, maybe someone (myself included) should've questioned the wisdom of going into a postseason planning to have only rookie starters.

Moving Hendricks when the team is so desperate for pitching would be a tough move, but I can't believe the Cubs would pass if they got a great offer.

I would bet on it.  The Rays will find a team willing to pay Glasnow essentially $12MM (factoring in his arb number for 2022 and similar salary for 2023) for one season's work
