Connor Byrne

They should be all over Bryant if they can't get Donaldson
Cashmoney
6:27
Yanks next move is?
Connor Byrne
6:27
Trade Happ? Add to bullpen?
AngryScioscFace
6:28
Are the Angels being complacent by not going "all in" on top tier pitching thinking new pitching coach Mickey Calloway can work wonders with a mediocre staff?
Connor Byrne
6:28
I wouldn't say "complacent," but I'll be disappointed in them if they don't at least pick up a No. 2-3 type of starter via trade
Will
6:29
Should the Jays pursue Betances ?
Connor Byrne
6:30
Everybody should. Even if you're a lousy team (not saying Toronto is), hope he rebounds and then try to flip him at the deadline. Odds are he'll be signing a one-year deal (maybe with an option for a second year).
Jon D.
6:30
What do the twins do now?
Connor Byrne
6:30
Try to make a trade for a starter.
Rabgers
6:31
Watch us pull off the Arenado deal.
Connor Byrne
6:31
I'd love to see the Rabgers pull this off.
Rob
6:31
Would Bloom get away with trotting out a sub par team in Boston?
Connor Byrne
6:33
"He's a bum! Get him out of here!"-Tommy in Southie. Two years later when the Red Sox win the World Series: "This Bloom's a genius!"
Ghost of Christmas Past
6:33
Will Charlie Brown play highschool baseball or concentrate on his football skills...?
Connor Byrne
6:34
If he's gonna make it in football, he needs to find a more reliable holder than that jackass Lucy
Marc
6:34
When is Dipoto going to make a trade this has been a slow offseason. lol
Connor Byrne
6:34
Didn't he just trade Narvaez a couple weeks ago? (Admittedly, I also forgot about that when writing something about Seager a little while back)
Phillies2020

Eovaldi & Betts for Nick Williams, Adonis Medina, Cole Irvin & Jojo Romero. Phils take on ALL salary obligations. Enough for the Red So?
Connor Byrne
6:35
No. Not close to enough for Betts, even if it means dumping Eovaldi's money.
JD
6:36
Why aren’t the Rangers all in on Encarnación?
Connor Byrne
6:37
I like the idea. Actually, I like just about anyone over Ronald Guzman.
Momark
6:37
Cubs trade Bryant. What do they do with the extra $ while still justifying staying under the 206 to avoid a big 6 mill penalty? Laughable for them to rationalize doing almost nothing for a few million given their payroll resources.
Connor Byrne
6:38
It's absolutely laughable. My colleagues Tim, Steve, Jeff and I discussed this the other day. This is a team that claims it couldn't even afford Alex Claudio in free agency. He signed for $1.75MM. What a joke.
6:39
If you're a Cubs fan, you should be angry.
Arenado
6:39
Will I opt out in 2 years?
Connor Byrne
6:40
I'm sure it's tempting given the way free agency has gone this winter, but we'll see how good he & the Rockies are then. Arenado has made it clear he wants to win, and COL did little of that last season.
Steve Cohen
6:40
should I make my team the evilest of empires by consistently going over 300m beginning next year?
Connor Byrne
6:41
(Future Mets owner Steve Cohen) - When you take control (which likely won't be until 2025), yes. The Mets should be spending at the absolute top of the league.

6:43
Ozuna seems like might be left standing when regular season starts, will he have to wait till draft to sign?
Connor Byrne
6:44
I wouldn't go that far, but Ozuna is someone who I thought should've strongly considered taking the QO. Once Donaldson (and maybe even Castellanos) comes off the market, we'll see how his market unfolds.
(and maybe I can use the word "market" some more)

Arte Moreno couldn't smooth a silk sheet if he had a hot date with a babe.... I lost my train of thought.
Connor Byrne
6:44
That's a shame
Mark4173
6:45
Cubs get Nick back?
Connor Byrne
6:45
Castellanos? Unless they clear $ out, I doubt it.

I get the impression that Donaldson enjoyed Atlanta and is just waiting to see if an offer comes his way that overwhelms him, if not sign another 1 year pact in ATL?
Connor Byrne
6:47
He's not signing a 1-yr deal at the age of 34, but I think David O'Brien of The Athletic reported the other day he'll give ATL a shot to match any offer. Donaldson should get 3 at worst.

6:48
in your opinion, how likely is woodruff to repeat his numbers for MIL this year?
