After last weekend's flurry of end-of-camp news postponed the chat, we're back with a vengeance!  Let's dive into some questions...
Marky Mark
9:02
Any news or rumors with Conforto or Justin Upton and where they might go?
Mark P
9:03
The Twins are known to have expressed some interest in Upton, but more teams figure to talk to him now that he's fully available.

As for Conforto, it may be a case of waiting until there's a significant injury somewhere.

Will Aaron Judge be traded and if so to which team?
Mark P
9:03
Unless the Yankees completely fall out of the race, there's no way Judge is being traded.
Doug
9:04
Upton to SD as a platoon makes too much sense right?
Jay
9:04
Do you think Justin Upton would be a good fit for the Reds?
Mark P
9:05
Not to say that Upton wouldn't be sparked by a change of scenery or a change of role, but he's also been basically a replacement-level player for three yeas now.  The jury is out on what he can actually bring a team in 2022

9:06
How good is Julio Rodriguez going to be? What a clutch first hit today
Mark P
9:07
Good for him for getting on the board, and for having a cool first-hit situation.  That's a much better story to tell the grandkids than "yeah, I dribbled a single past the mound in the ninth inning of a game we were losing 14-1."

What did you think about the Yankees offer to Judge?
Mark P
9:08
I thought it was pretty reasonable, but I can also understand why Judge turned it down
AZDBACKSfan01
9:09
expectations for the Arizona diamondbacks this season
Mark P
9:09
I'm not expecting much.  Tough division, a ton of question marks on the roster....it may be a reach for them to even get into fourth place
Jamie
9:12
How bout them Jays
Mark P
9:12
I'd be hard-pressed to think of a more inspiring start to a season, except for a better performance from the rotation
Tim
9:13
If the Dodgers don’t resign Trey Turner, do they trade him? or let him walk?
Mark P
9:13
As with Judge, a trade isn't happening unless the Dodgers somehow fell totally out of the pennant race.  L.A. is trying to win a championship this year, and moving Turner midseason isn't likely to help them get closer to that goal
Brett Gardner
9:14
do I end up playing this year? And for who?
Mark P
9:14
With the Phillies' injuries in center field and the Joe Girardi connection, Philly seems like an obvious possible fit
Walter
9:16
Guardians  need J. Upton and Conforto ASAP.
Mark P
9:16
But that would mean less playing time for Steven Kwan, who I'm pleased to say I cited as an underrated ROY candidate in a recent chat.  Even a broken clock is right twice a day!

Ohh boy this 2022 version of the Phillies is really starting to smell like 1993....Schwarber opening day comments, Castellanos "don't have a college degree, I hit baseballs" and Harper continuing to get Philly in his interviews...All 3 locked in contract wise and this brand of baseball is bringing fun back to Philly....? Pstaff good but not great....Is it just me or do I smell a division title...?
Mark P
9:17
As a Blue Jays fan, I hope it's EXACTLY like the 1993 season
Kevin
9:18
Is Mikolas hurt still?  He looked like it today.
Mark P
9:18
Mikolas has barely pitched in the last two years, no surprise he's a little shaky to start off.
Oakland A’s boy
9:18
are we moving to Vegas and going from A’s to Aces?
Mark P
9:19
I really hope they don't change the name, in the event of a move.  The "Athletics" name has so much tradition over so many cities, it should stick around.
Kevin
9:20
What would Montas cost St. Louis?
Mark P
9:21
As Montas is controlled through 2023, the A's would have a higher asking price than they did for Manaea or Bassitt.  They'd at least ask for someone in the Liberatore/Walker/Gorman tier, not that STL would deal from that trio
Matt
9:22
What do the white Sox do with their rotation? Lots of injuries for a team with not great depth
Mark P
9:23
Lopez, Lambert, and hope that Cueto can get ramped up quicker than expected
9:24
I don't think they'll bring any big trades this early, especially if Giolito ends up only ("only") missing a couple of starts
Thomas
9:25
If the royals young starting pitching can collectivity take a step forward, are they a playoff team? I like their bullpen and that lineup has potential
Mark P
9:27
This is kind of what KC was hoping for last year, except it turned out that basically all of the young arms weren't ready yet.  There's still not a lot of certainty there, but with so much talent, you'd think having even one starter make a true breakout would help the Royals immensely
Santi Claus
9:28
Can Santiago Espinal realistically put up an OPS around .800 over 450 AB’s?
Mark P
9:29
He doesn't have that kind of track record in the minors, so realistically no, unless the Jays hitting coaches have really unlocked something with him.  But, especially as part of a platoon, Espinal can certainly be a productive and helpful player.

What ever happened to Rick Porcello? Did he retire?
