He's kind of a one-dimensional power hitter, and teams generally don't much value that skillset --- especially not with an arbitration number inflated by his home run totals.

According to recent reports, the Yankees will have more info on LeMahieu's foot injury by late December.  I would guess the team holds off on any major MI moves until then, so they know if LeMahieu might need surgery or what his status might be for the start of the season

How do agents communicate offers their players receive to other teams?  As an ex 'markets guy,' I'm interested to hear how front offices get informed on what the best offer for targets might be.  There must be some convention, no, otherwise the market's would be less 'efficient'.

I'm sure there's some back-channel dialogue going on, but teams have to be careful about this, since it's only a hop, skip and jump away from being seeing as collusion

Seth brown was outstanding last year. Where would you project a trade to?

He's an interesting possible trade chip, since while he is controlled through 2026, Brown is also already 30 years old.  My suspicion is that the Athletics' usage of Brown in center field last year was maybe a quiet audition for other teams interested in the trade market.

In general, however, Brown is a 1B/corner OF type with some pop, if not a high average or on-base skill.

Seems like Rolen is the only candidate with a shot at getting voted in by the writers.  

For the veterans' committee ballot, there are enough good and controversial candidates that who knows how the votes will split.
If I had to predict, I'll say Rolen and (finally) Fred McGriff get the nod

many white sox fans have been proposing a Liam Hendricks trade to the Dodgers for a couple of their top prospects or even perhaps Gavin Lux. Do you think Dodgers have much interest?

Well, it won't be Lux.  I just told him a trade was highly doubtful, and now you want me to go back on my word?!

Supposedly the logic behind a Hendriks deal would be to free up payroll space, so the Sox could address needs elsewhere.  But unless the Dodger prospects are players that could contribute immediately, moving Hendriks seems like a risky move that would weaken the Chicago bullpen
