Baseball. Let's talk about it.
Hit me with some questions and we'll get this train moving shortly.

Which of their free agents do you think the Dodgers are most likely to retain?
Jeffrey Todd
2:08
Turner is atop the list for me, just because there isn't an obvious path to replace him and aren't a lot of other teams that seem particularly likely to push hard to get him.

Whats Mccann's future in the bronx? Stay or go?
Jeffrey Todd
2:09
With the catching market where it is, I think it's reasonably likely he'll be traded. But the Yanks certainly don't need to if they're comfy with him as a regular DH and prefer to keep the catching depth on hand (and don't get a good enough offer).

Do the Angels go after a big name free Agent or has the Pujols/Hamilton/Wilson deals scarred them away?
Jeffrey Todd
2:11
Not sure they will be chasing the top of the market in the same way they might have in the past, but that probably isn't quite the reason. Perhaps some of the big money experiences have chastened Arte Moreno a bit, but the team also has too many areas in need of improvement to just buy a superstar, IMO.

Will Yanks go after Chapman, Jansen or Melancon?
Jeffrey Todd
2:11
I'd guess they get involved heavily on the first two but don't really angle for Melancon.

Who am I playing for next year?
Jeffrey Todd
2:12
Mets and Angels seem like the cleanest fits.

Believer in Nova's "Re-Seargence" with Pittsburgh? Looks like he could be this years J.A. Happ. And if you are, what kinda contract is he looking at? 3/30?
Jeffrey Todd
2:13
Not sure whether to believe it, but I think he'll beat that rather easily. Much younger than was Happ.

Cheers from Ireland! Thanks or the chats Jeff. Any chance Eduardo Rodriguez could get dangled in the off-season?
Jeffrey Todd
2:14
Cheers! Love Ireland.
Sure I can see that -- he'd be the type of guy they could dangle to get a more established pitcher with less control, say.

What can reasonably be expected of urias next season? 160-70 innings of low-mid 3 era ball?
Jeffrey Todd
2:15
Sounds pretty fair -- maybe just a bit on the optimistic side b/c it's pitching and who knows. But he's a beast. They won't push him too hard on innings but he should be able to shoulder a more or less full load.

The Indians are pretty well set for the next couple years, with the exception of RF. Who are some realistic options for RF via trade, minors and/or free agency.
Jeffrey Todd
2:16
Not sure on specifics - would depend quite a bit on what they are looking to offer up. But I have been arguing with Steve and Tim that they could actually dangle Andrew Miller to get a quality young outfielder. Curious how that would grab Tribe fans.

With the Cardinals saying they are looking for defensive upgrades mainly through trades what teams do you see them as a match with?
Jeffrey Todd
2:18
There are a few pretty good CF options in free agency. I don't see them offering enough to get Pollock (DBacks should let him rebuild value). Think they would need to pay a lot for Blackmon, but could see a fit there. I wonder if the Red Sox would give any thought to dealing JBJ ... could be some interesting scenarios involving the Cards' pitching. (Just spitballing here.)

Kyle Schwarber. That is all.

Given the age and tools present, Cespedes is probably the big FA this winter, no?
Jeffrey Todd

Would be stunned if he's not.

Giants..... Who we gonna get you think ?
Mark Melancon?
and maybe a decent set up man??
Jeffrey Todd
2:19
Putting them on Melancon is a pretty decent bet. Not sure they'll stretch to add the top two guys but they may feel compelled to do what's needed to get a legit closer.
2:20
But I don't see them doing a ton in the pen otherwise -- doubt they spend big on two relievers.

What do you think of the Folty for McCann trade? Could the Yankees get Touki, Fried and Allard for him?
Jeffrey Todd
2:20
"Folty for McCann" is not a trade. And I don't think it's a very realistic scenario.
As for the second question ... ???
No

Are you somewhat surprised that both Harrell and Tolleson were outrighted?
Jeffrey Todd
2:21
Nah. Harrell was just a gap-filler and Tolleson was going to earn a decent chunk of money via arb.

Which pitcher is most likely to be traded this winter, Verlander, Greinke or Sale?
Jeffrey Todd

Tough question.
