What do you think about the brewers strategy this offseason? It seems the brewers are not replacing production on a one for one basis. They will be trying replace production situationally and as a whole. I’m not sure many understand this.

It's very difficult to thread the needle between unloading pricey players and staying competitive, and it's a credit to the Brewers that they've never wanted to "rebuild."  Feels like Burnes was always going to be dealt this winter, though Woodruff's injury and subsequent non-tender undoubtedly threw a big wrench into whatever Milwaukee's plans might've been prior to Woodruff getting hurt.

Obviously the fanbase isn't happy with continually losing most of the Crew's star players, yet the track record through the Stearns era and now into the Arnold era has been pretty solid.

Pederson probably is what he is, since as much as he'd like to establish himself as a true everyday player....there's a reason why teams keep shielding him from LHP, you know?

But if he figures something out and starts performing adequately well against lefties, more power to him.  Pederson's splits against LHP in 2021-22 were okay, albeit in about 170 PA

the Dodgers know Bellinger better than anyone, and they were comfortable moving on entirely last winter.  Not that surprising that they haven't (to our knowledge) pursued a reunion

Does it seem like the Mariners are done after Santos or can you see them making one last surprise move? They are still under their payroll from last year and Dipoto said it would "go up". Tell me I'm a total sicko for holding out hope they might be a mystery team for Chapman?

Getting Polanco probably closed the door on another notable infield move.  I like Rojas/Urias/Moore as a platoon for one position (3B) more than I like them covering two positions, so the M's are probably feeling comfortable enough at the hot corner to not splurge on Chapman

Seems like Yankee prospects SS Peraza and OF Peiriera dont seem to fit in their immediate future plans. My question - would the Marlins value both players along with Nestor Cortes in exchange for pitchers Luzardo or Cabrera?

Since Verdugo and Torres are only under arb control through this season, Peraza and Pereira have plenty of future value even if they might not necessarily be seen as key elements of the 2024 team.

And that particular trade package doesn't work for the Yankees since Cortes is arb-controlled for two more years and he might bounce right back to his borderline All-Star form if he's healthy.

Murray was ninth overall in the 2018 draft, so there stands a good chance that he might've only reached the big leagues last season, assuming he'd developed as expected and the canceled 2020 minor league season wouldn't have hurt his progress.

Makes for a fascinating alternate reality, and I'm sure Murray isn't second-guessing his decision to stick with football

Good question.  Sanchez has been readily available for a couple of years now so Tampa has had their opportunities to land him, but the Rays must simply not be too keen on him
