I was looking at a box score today on The Athletic and the batter (wish I could remember his name) had an on base percentage lower than his batting average.  I'm assuming he has only a few at bats this early in the seaso.  How is this possible?  Is it because of a fielders choice?  Sacrifice flies?

Arreaz is still in his arb years, so he is controlled through the 2025 season.  The Marlins are only paying down his 2024 salary, since his 2025 salary hasn't been determined yet

The Cardinals have had a troubling number of players breaking out only after they leave St. Louis, which does hint at some cracks in player development.  It could be that trying to fit everyone under that general "Cardinal Way" umbrella isn't working in an era when players all have their own individual coaches and training methods apart from what the team is doing.

If the Marlins are ready to sell, what would it take for the Brewers to get Cabrera to add to the rotation?

Cabrera is controlled through 2028, but he has also had trouble staying healthy and being consistently effective when he can pitch.  I'm sure the Brewers would have interest, but there are also enough red flags that it's not as simple* as just listing three or four of Milwaukee's top 10 prospects.

This would be an interesting wrinkle to a fire sale, no doubt.  Obviously it would help if the other team had a pre-existing relationship with Schumaker, but the Padres aren't looking to make a managerial change and the Cards seem committed to Marmol
