It's the steady rhythm and utter familiarity, the building tension, and the way that unbelievable things can happen at any moment.

Cesar Hernandez traded by mid season? Kingery and Crawford are a'comin'.
Jeffrey Todd

I'm not sure. They are in no rush to do deals just to do them, that's for sure. And I don't think they want to just turn over jobs to prospects as soon as it's plausible to do so. Hernandez could be a pretty valuable utility guy to have on hand when they are bringing up more youngsters.

Okay going to finish up here with a few more ...

What would you like to see in a baseball skills contest during the All Star Break?
Jeffrey Todd
3:11
Outfielders throwing at targets from the fence would probably be tops for me.

@B: Sterling is the worst. Do everything you can to live--and work--within the beltway.

My parents live there, I grew up there. Not really gonna disagree ... lots more there now than there was, at least.

How many MLB games do you watch per season?
Jeffrey Todd
3:12
Watch bits and pieces most every day. Just like the sound on in the background, mostly. But weirdly, I don't get to sit down and just watch a game all that often.

If Pagan has to wait around another month, how fast could he be ready for a MLB game?
Jeffrey Todd
3:13
A veteran guy like that, I'd expect not too long. Justin Morneau moved pretty quick last year IIRC and he was also coming back from injury.

i know its waaaaaay too early, but if Ellsbury has a bounceback year (supposedly has moved up in the box) do the Yanks sell high-ish and only have to eat like 1/2 the contract?
Jeffrey Todd
3:14
Eh. Problem is that deal was signed for the value he'd provide up front. It would pretty much be underwater even if he had been playing better. But it's certainly possible he could end up being moved. If Vernon Wells can be traded, so can Ells.

Solid ball question: what is your favorite ball park meal?
Jeffrey Todd
3:15
Old school dog with mustard and a big old generic ice cold American lager.

I can say in 3 words what makes baseball the greatest: Bartolo Colon batting.

How much are the Jays going to regret not hanging onto Encarnacion?
Jeffrey Todd
3:15
Tough the way it played out, but yeah, at 3/60 he's a bargain I think.

Feel likeArcher would be a more realistic target for HOU to target, especially if they HAD to mortgage the farm?
Jeffrey Todd
3:16
Rays probably didn't just want a bunch of prospects. And probably had an even higher price on him than the Sox had on Q.
Okay folks I gotta run.
Today's chat got a bit off topic, but I enjoyed it. And that, surely, is what matters most! Ha.

Thanks as always, talk next week!
