How far away are the Reds from being at least a .500 team?
Jeffrey Todd
3:10
It really depends upon how the pitching develops. It has been so poor lately and it's hard to see them really spending on FAs to try to make up the gap.

Don't you wish you could make as much money as a Major League Baseball player?  How does your pay compares with them?
Jeffrey Todd

LOL

I'm offered 2/20 to stay in COL, do I take it?
Jeffrey Todd
3:11
Nope
That's less than Wieters got (plus he got the opt-out).

Any chance Robles starts '18 in the Bigs?
Jeffrey Todd

Not really

The Profar to San Diego thing doesn't make sense because the Rangers will want a return commensurate with Profar's former top prospect status and because Profar is a free agent in two years. Years in which the Padres are ferociously unlikely to contend.
Jeffrey Todd

The Rangers might want that but they will not remotely expect it. Unless TEX finds a way for him to fit on the roster next year, they are probably just going to have to take what they can get.

I disagree a little bit with "they came through other systems."  They all spent meaningful time in our system and all improved.  Aren;t the Cubs praise for Rizzo?

I mean, I'm not judging or saying the White Sox shouldnt get credit. I'm just saying, these were sort of fallen prospects that were already in the upper levels when they got there. Not like some high-schooler or int'l signee who was drafted and developed from Rookie ball on up.
3:16
There'd still be credit to CWS if those guys turn out to be useful in the long run, certainly, for finding them and getting their talent to express itself in the majors.

Should we be worried about Maisel Franco or VV?
Jeffrey Todd
3:16
Of course.
Doesn't mean you give up, though.

I keep seeing the question about Forsythe' option being picked up. It's honestly too cheap not to pick up. Even if it were picked up and traded right?
Jeffrey Todd

Ehhh just not much demand at second base. I kind of find myself thinking they'll cut him loose if they decide they don't want him on the roster. But I guess they'd at least shop the contract a bit first.

Would you ever consider Adam Dunn as a decent player? I read an article that Dunn kinda started this home run, walk, or strikeout thing.
Jeffrey Todd
3:18
Yeah he was a very good player. Limited, of course, but he could sure hit.
3:19
Okay folks going to be winding down here ...
3:20
Actually I just got to the end of the questions and didn't find anymore I want to answer.
So.
Let's do it again next week. Thanks as always!
