A two-year deal is very likely, and two years plus a vesting or club option is even a possibility if a team really wants to seal the deal.

Many have mentioned that Atlanta is the logical mix of "contending team" and "close to Gray's home in Nashville," so the Braves might have an edge in that sense

Should the Brewers be all in on trying to lock up Miz or is this way too premature of a move?

"Premature" is the wrong word, as I actually think Milwaukee missed its window for an extension.  Misiorowski's asking price is now maybe beyond what the Brewers are willing to pay, unless they think his arm can continue holding up under all the extreme velocity.  If I had to guess, the Miz seems a lot more likely to be a "future Brewer star traded a year before free agency" than he is an extension candidate

Why are Cubs so opposed to bringing back Seiya

I'm not sure they're opposed, per se, but the general feeling is that the Cubs will let him walk.  I will say that of the two outfielders, Chicago should and probably will make more of a push for Suzuki than Happ.

Another burst of news here, and I'm afraid I'll have to just cut the chat short here.  My apologies about this...it was bold on my part to try and fit in a chat on what was surely going to be a pretty busy night for breaking news.  Next week I'll make a point to time the chat in a quieter period so everyone can get more of a chance to participate.
If you're interested in more baseball Q&A, one of the many benefits of our Trade Rumors Front Office subscription is the exclusive weekly live chats. The more limited field means you're about 10 times more likely to get a question answered, as opposed to battling for space with hundreds of other questions in today's chat. For more on our memberships, check out this link:
