Guess I'll pick the Dodgers, just b/c Kenley Jansen is looking so shaky. Could take the Cubs here, too. Nats have quite a lot of talent on the DL that ought to give them a boost, so I'll give them a pass for now.

Has Amed Rosario’s shine wore off and is he basically Jose Iglesias?
Jeffrey Todd
3:37
I mean, he didn't hit much last year, either. He has a ways to go to establishing that he can hit enough to be a first-division type of SS. But obviously he's still very young and the talent evaluators always thought he'd get there.

Homer Bailey a legit trade candidate to LAA? Front offices have a good history of deals
Jeffrey Todd
3:39
Right now it looks like he's succeeding due to BABIP fortune. But obviously it's promising that he is giving innings and throwing the ball well. Unless he sustains a full-blown breakout for a few months -- which he has shown no signs of doing -- nobody is touching that contract for a guy with that injury history. As with Mesoraco, the Reds would just be getting some cost savings.

The dude who was blocked literally made fifteen posts on the Bryan Price firing saying "how is this a trade rumor?"
Jeffrey Todd
3:40
Oh ... well in that case, no, we're probably not going to unblock you, sorry.
If we literally only covered rumors of trades, we'd go weeks without anything appearing on the site at certain times of year.

I know they say that Memorial Day is the barometer for contender-ship but given the AL East outlook do the O's pack it in and get whatever they can for Machado, Jones, and Britton when he returns?  Esp since their value diminishes as the season progresses
Jeffrey Todd
3:42
Every year, people wonder whether team a or b or c ought to sell early. It never really happens, for many reasons. There are some early deals, sure, but it's just not really feasible -- historically, at least -- to blow things up early on. In the O's case, they kind of have to give it longer anyway given the decisions they made over the winter.

How selective is this “chat”. Seems like the only way to get your stuff on here is is you use intecified words
Jeffrey Todd
3:43
Um, what?
I just scroll down and answer questions as I'm able. Otherwise, I don't know what that word is.

With Lind and Reynolds off the board, what options at first base are left when the rockies front office looks at their roster and realize they need one?
Jeffrey Todd
3:44
You are confused. I am confused. Discussed this in my review of their offseason: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/04/offseason-in-review-colorado-ro...

Wow this turned me away from this app completely. Thank you. Bye

As ever, you'll want to adjust your expectations when entering the chat room. I guess I could just sit here and publish everyone's questions, but then I wouldn't answer any of them!

What happens to Camargo's 3B spot with the Joey Bats signing?
Jeffrey Todd
3:45
They'll let it play out. Camargo has not really done much to suggest he's a future regular at third. Bautista likely isn't going to play every day even if he comes up. And he could still eat into Markakis time in right, don't forget.

What retired player(s) would you like to see make a comeback?
Jeffrey Todd
3:46
I answered a question like this a while back. It is obviously Bonds, given how amazing he was and how his career ended. Also he's still in shape.
3:47
But otherwise, Jamie Moyer.

Braves went 6-5 against Colorado, Washington (2x), and the Cubs.  Record is now at 10-7.  I know it's early but is this team better than everyone thought?  Can they make a WC run once they add Acuna?
Jeffrey Todd
3:48
But going 6-5 in a given stretch is a few bounces of the ball away from going 4-7 in that same stretch. I've not seen anything to really change the expectations too significantly. Albies has upped expectations. It's nice that Tucker is hitting well. But the overall quality still seems lacking at present.
3:49
Of course, it doesn't take much to see a decent team possible overperforming a bit and staying in WC territory. And Acuna does matter. So I wouldn't rule it out and there's no reason, if you're a Braves fan, not to watch and hope.

Am I upping my chances of getting traded before the deadline?
Jeffrey Todd
3:50
Upping your chances of continuing to pitch for the NL West leaders and then getting a big ol' free agent contract.

Any prediction when we will see Gleyber Torres up?
Jeffrey Todd
3:51
No reason to hold him back if they really think he's fully ready to make an impact. I expect they are truly pondering that question, not monkeying around with service time or something.

How long until you quit righting for this web-site and they get somebody who actuwally knows what there talking about?

Whether or not this is a joke, it made me smile.

Devin Mesoraco ..  it isnt that he hasnt hit in years.   Its that he hasnt been healthy in years !!!  On that note, he is a perfect Mets  player !!
Jeffrey Todd
3:53
Yes, that too.
Danny
3:53
Do you feel Milwaukee still targets a top-tier arm before/at the deadline?
Jeffrey Todd
3:54
It isn't immediately clear what high-end SPs might be available -- perhaps not many -- but I don't see why they wouldn't be one of the likeliest teams to pursue one.
3:55
It's interesting that the top pending free agent starters are with contenders. That could make it interesting to see whether teams like MIL go hunting for more controllable guys (Archer, Duffy, Fulmer) and pay significantly to pry them loose.

Ummmm, Trout is awesome, but have you ever heard for a fella named Babe Ruth? You know, the guy who was a top-flight starter and then out-homered most TEAMS in certain years? I
Jeffrey Todd
3:56
The candy bar?
3:57
It's hard to imagine Trout passing him in WAR,, unquestionably, but Ruth was also just demolishing relatively less competitive opponents (esp b/c of the separation of the negro leagues).
