Cincinnati hasn't actually "torn down everything" though. If anything they have been way too clingy during their rebuild. Most of their trades came 2 years too late.

With all this "defensive shifting" going on, do you think MLB will ever limit how far a position player can move from the "standard" playing position?

Why would the league do that? The positions only came about because the 7 non-battery players sort of figured out where to stand when the game was invented.
