Kevin Pillar to the Tribe?
Mark P
10:44
He doesn't strike me as better than any of Cleveland's current outfield options
BigBear
10:45
Robbie Ray to the Sox, for JBJ and a prospect?
Mark P
10:45
Ray has a lot more value than Bradley, given Bradley's rough 2019 season
Rays2020
10:45
Wander makes it to the bigs in 2020?  If so, SS, 2B, or utility? Do we sign him to an extension, a la Longoria?
Mark P
10:46
Wander has yet to play above high-A ball, so expecting a 2020 debut in the majors might be a stretch.  That said, I can't rule it out entirely because this kid seems like a truly special prospect.  I'm sure Tampa will make every effort to sign him to an early-career or even a pre-debut extension

Rangers seem out on Castellanos according to J Daniels remarks...who emerges as most likely suitor or does price have to change at this point?
Mark P
10:48
I wonder if that wasn't a bit of public gamesmanship by Jon Daniels, perhaps as a bid to get Castellanos to drop his asking price.  Castellanos is such a good fit in Texas that I can't imagine the Rangers will be totally out on him unless he signs elsewhere, or unless the Rangers know something we don't
Orioles
10:49
Would a reunion with Andrew Cashner be a good idea?
Mark P
10:50
Can't really hurt.  He won't cost much, they know him well, and he even pitched pretty decently in early 2019 before the trade.
Pedey's Glass Knee

Any chance Pedroia retires (thus removing his $13.75MM AAV from the Sox payroll) in exchange for a two-year gig as manager at $25.25MM (the remaining contract amount)?
Mark P
10:50
The league surely steps in to prevent such trickery
People Are Crazy

Doesn't signing Ozuna make it perfectly reasonable to turn 3B over to Riley? Why is everyone acting like there is a need to find someone else? Even if he doesn't figure out how to hit for average, he has value with decent defense and 30-40HR potential hitting in the 7/8 hole, and there's no pressure on him to be "the guy" in the lineup. Whatever he does offensively is just the cherry on top of the sundae from the Braves' lineup perspective, it seems, with Acuna, Albies, Freeman, Ozuna, Swanson, D'Arnaud, and Markakis/Duvall/Inciarte.
Mark P
10:52
I mentioned something to this effect last week in the chat.  It seems like many have given up on Riley already after not even one full MLB season.  Riley has a ton of potential, he's far from a bad option at third base
Baseball Dude
10:53
You think Starling Marte going to be traded soon, during season, or not at all?
Mark P
10:53
At this point my guess is during the season.  I think he'll definitely be dealt at some point, if not necessarily soon.
That’s it , Fort Pitt
10:54
Do the recent comments About evaluating what they have in place from Pirates FO (GM & owner) signal to you there will be a complete rebuild, but not until mid-season?
Mark P
10:55
Mostly yes, though maybe not a complete rebuild.  If the Pirates play decently well (maybe in the 75-win area if not up to .500), it might not even be too much of an overhaul at all
Russ Martin
10:56
Have I played my last MLB game?
Mark P
10:56
Doubt it.  Martin will catch on with some team as a backup before Spring Training is out
Royals
10:57
Taijuan Walker seems like a good fit almost anywhere as a potential backend piece with upside.  Is he gonna get a one year deal, or could a team like Royals tack on some options so he could fall into a possible contention window?
Mark P
10:59
It's interesting, we haven't heard that much about Walker since his non-tender.  Seattle is the only team known to have interest, and I would've guessed that more teams would've been in the mix (though obviously they might indeed be, but aren't public about it).
A one-year deal with some type of club/player/vesting option for 2021 seems like the safest bet for Walker's eventual contract
TJ
11:00
Who is the Rays primary 1B this season Choi or N Lowe?
Mark P
11:01
Knowing the Rays, it might end up being Tsutsugo or even Jose Martinez, as much as that team loves to mix and match their players around the diamond
MK
11:02
Will Bryant trade talks ramp up after the grievance is decided?
Mark P
11:03
The Bryant grievance has inexplicably become one of the offseason's biggest stories, given how it might be holding up a lot of the trade market.  Like others, I have no idea how or why it has taken this long for a ruling, and don't know when one might be forthcoming from the arbiter
HOF
11:03
Given their % of votes this year and last...Do you think Bonds or Clemens makes the Hall before they're off the ballot?
Mark P
11:04
Doesn't seem like it.  Their vote totals seem to have largely plateaued, and there seems to be much more than 25% of the electorate that just flat-out won't vote for them
Jim Crane
11:05
Chance that i get Springer locked up long term?
Mark P
11:06
(Jim Crane = Astros owner)

I'd always considered Springer a good candidate for an extension, though that was before all this mess with the sign-stealing scandal.  Now, it's hard to say how anything will shake out long-term in Houston.
King Kelly
11:07
Haven't heard much about a Boyd trade this offseason.  Detroit still holding out for top dollar?  Seems that with the top FA pitchers now off the table, players like Boyd and Price (and Darvish?) should be getting more attention
Mark P
11:08
Boyd finished with only ok numbers in 2019, so teams likely aren't willing to give up a ton for him, years of control notwithstanding.  By that same logic, the Tigers might want to hang onto Boyd to see if he has a nice first half, in order to stir up his market again
Hahn
11:09
Do I need more pitching?
Mark P
11:10
(White Sox GM Rick Hahn)

Yes, though any GM would say that they always need more pitching.  I'd like Chicago's rotation more with one more veteran arm in there, though I can understand why the Sox are hopeful that one of their younger options can emerge
King Kelly
11:12
Star Wars or Star Trek?
Mark P
11:12
i was a big Next Generation fan back in the day, so I'll go with Star Trek
Red sox
11:12
Who is going to be my 1B for the openning day?
Mark P
11:13
Chavis is most likely, though there have some been some rumblings that Moreland could be re-signed
Cards Nation
11:13
Is there a realistic  market for Cmart out there. It seems like several teams may be willing to give up prospects to give him a chance to start.
