Hey, everyone. We'll get started in a bit.

If the Mets get a new owner flush with cash, are they a good candidate for an Arenado trade?
Connor Byrne
6:05
They should be better candidates in general to pursue high-priced players (Betts in free agency, for instance). It's harder to say in the case of someone like Arenado because of his opt-out clause after 2021. That has a big effect on his trade value.

Andrew Cashner gonna get signed?
Connor Byrne
6:07
I figured he'd have gotten a minor league deal, but that was before the shutdown. Maybe he just doesn't want to play this season. I remember he said last year before the O's traded him to Boston that he'd consider sitting out if a team he didn't want to go to acquired him.

Is expansion a real possibility anytime soon?
Connor Byrne
6:08
It's probably a greater possibility than it was before the virus, as the league will want to recoup lost revenue in any way possible.

Halos over/under 28 wins?
Connor Byrne

I'll go 31-29

France getting reps at catcher. His bat seems a lot more legit for that position. Any chance of playing time?
Connor Byrne
6:11
I'd like to see France get a bigger shot in light of the insane AAA numbers he posted last season. Catcher could present an opportunity considering Hedges and Mejia haven't hit a ton (though Hedges is amazing on D and Mejia's still young)

Where should the mets rank in terms of overall spending
Connor Byrne
6:12
Near the very top of the league. They were 8th on Opening Day last year, which is OK. Should be higher, though.

Verdugo, Downs, Wong, $16 million in salary relief for Betts and Price. Looking pretty good now?
Connor Byrne
6:14
I don't think the return ever looked that bad for the Red Sox, but you're a huge-market team trading an all-world, in-his-prime superstar. It's not a good look. It's also not the Dodgers' fault the virus came along. They could still win a World Series with Betts this year and/or re-sign him.

Any word on whether or not they will offer a special MLB Extra-Innings package? Right now they only have the full season price and their reps seem to be oblivious to MLB restarting with a shortened season.
Connor Byrne
6:15
Haven't heard anything about it because I don't have satellite, but there should be a discount. Full price for a 60-game season would be ridiculous.

How long does a cba last?
Connor Byrne

the current CBA expires December 2021

Which team makes sense for Brian Dozier? I’m thinking that Dozier could play for the Cardinals. He has power and he hits a lot of homeruns. What are your thoughts?
Connor Byrne
6:18
Obviously not a star anymore, but he's still too good to be unemployed. With that said, who knows if he wants to play this year. And he wouldn't get much playing time in STL. Kolten Wong's at second and Carpenter should be the DH a lot.

thoughts abt yaya to hotlanta?
Connor Byrne
6:20
I like the Puig move for ATL. I think worst-case scenario he can provide the type of production Markakis did last season. Best-case, he returns to being the well-above-average hitter he used to be.

When is the cutoff for rookies to get called up without their team losing a year of them? ie kris Bryant rule
Connor Byrne
6:20
I think it's roughly a week this year.

Is Joe Davis the best announcer in the game? I think so. When Vin Scully retired, I literally cried and never thought I could enjoy baseball the same way. Much to my surprise, they brought in the young Joe Davis. Now, I'm not saying he's Vin Scully, but the guy has serious talent and calls a great game.
Connor Byrne
6:22
He does a really good, especially considering he's in the impossible situation of following an absolute legend. Not sure I'd say best in the game, but I'm impressed.

How much will Vlad's move to first help his offence?
Connor Byrne
6:23
Not sure I'm expecting much of an impact in that regard. I believe he'll mash over the long haul wherever he plays.

What's taking so long for the Giants to sign Martin and fix their catching situation?
Connor Byrne
6:25
It would make sense on paper. Again, though, you never know if some of these guys want to play.

This will be yet another interesting thing to watch this year.

Will mlbtr ever be full subscription? Praying not. I’m a strong no money spent cheapskate
Connor Byrne
6:27
No, but thanks to everyone who has subscribed. Even if you haven't or don't plan to, thanks for reading - especially the past few months with so little to talk about.

Who will win less tigers or Orioles ?
Connor Byrne
6:28
I'm definitely saying Orioles. Tougher schedule, worse roster.

Who is going after Stroman this offseason? He sounded a little mouthy and greedy the other day
Connor Byrne
6:29
I didn't get "mouthy" or "greedy" from the quotes I read. Too early to say who might sign him, but I guess he'll benefit in that there aren't any Coles, Strasburgs or even Wheelers set to reach the market. Then again, off a 60-game season, it's not a very good time for anyone to be a free agent.
