Can you see an reliever, maybe even a non closer, winning a Cy Young this year?
Connor Byrne
6:32
I really doubt it. It's hard enough for a reliever to win when he has a relatively large sample of innings in 162 games, so it should be even tougher in 60
Mr Roctober
6:33
How big of a concern are rain outs?  Only one dome in the Centrals.  And very few off days in September.  Since every game is going to count, there could be a real crunch at the end of the season.
Connor Byrne
6:34
This is a good question. MLB will have to try to squeeze in more doubleheaders when the need arises, but it's one of the many obstacles for this season.
Angels fan
6:35
Can you imagine Trout opting out of playing and the Angels making the playoffs without him??? Sounds crazy but baseball can be crazy sometimes, right?!?
Connor Byrne
6:36
So many hot takes would come from that. "Trout was clearly holding the team back. He doesn't have a winning mentality!"
Rangers29
6:36
Are the Rangers the most underrated team in baseball right now?
Connor Byrne
6:37
I think they look rather mediocre. Nice starting staff, but lots of questions on the roster.
Yankee Fan
6:37
Do you think some players like King Felix are going to be possibly ending their careers by opting out?
Connor Byrne
6:38
Felix was already kind of hanging by a thread, as he was really bad in recent seasons, so maybe. That said, it wouldn't hurt teams to take minor league flyers on players like him next offseason. Doesn't mean we'll see him in MLB again, granted.
Eirean Doolittle
6:39
Why the A's over the Astros? Curious, thanks!
Connor Byrne
6:40
Just a hunch. They're both really good, but the Astros' staff is pretty iffy after the top two
Jorge Mateo
6:41
Who will have a better year, Franklin Barreto or me?
Connor Byrne
6:41
Mateo just tested positive for COVID, so it's hard not to say Barreto without knowing how well he'll recover
Rangers29
6:43
Ok, underrate the Rangers now, just watch out.
Connor Byrne
6:43
Fair enough. Hey, it's 60 games, so who knows what'll happen. They were wild-card contenders for a while last year, if my memory's correct.

Mike Trout for Ronald Acuña straight up who hangs up first?
Connor Byrne
6:44
Time to poll the readers...
Trout for Acuna?

Trout (61.1% | 204 votes)

Acuna (38.9% | 130 votes)

Total Votes: 334

Keep contracts, age in mind. Obviously Trout's better without taking those factors into consideration.
Chris
6:46
Do you see the unbalanced schedule as unfair? For example the Padres only face the A’s and Astros 3x a piece and get the rebuilding Mariners 6x. I think that gives them a leg up over the D-backs, who by the way play 7 games at San Diego and only host them for 3...
Connor Byrne
6:46
I'm not thrilled with it, but considering what's going on, it's better than nothing
Oops.
6:47
Now you tell us
Connor Byrne
6:47
If I own a team that runs a big payroll, I'm taking Trout

Have we heard yet how vesting options will work?
Connor Byrne
6:48
Drew
6:49
Acuna’s And his contract 1000% > than Trout and his. And he’s got age on his side. The sky is the limit for that youngster.
Connor Byrne
6:49
Not unreasonable.
Mr.baseball
6:50
Will Miami make the playoffs. ?
Connor Byrne
6:50
Still at least a few years away. Doesn't help that every other team in their division is respectable to excellent.
Submarine Pitchers
6:51
Are they a dying breed?
Connor Byrne
6:52
I hope not, but they've never been very common anyway
Matt
6:52
name a player (past/present/dystopian future) you could beat down the first base line (in your prime of course)
Connor Byrne
6:52
I think a turtle could beat Pablo Sandoval down the line with the way he looks right now
ronny g
6:53
What do you think of the Tigers rebuild.
Connor Byrne
6:54
Their farm system's a lot better than it was, though it's kind of hard not to be when you pick atop the draft on multiple occasions. I'm still skeptical Al Avila's the solution at GM.
Brett cecil
6:54
I hear I’m coming trying out this submarine thing. Looks cool and can’t be any worse results since I signed that contract.
Connor Byrne
6:55
I think he's going sidearm, not full-blown submarine (if what I read yesterday's correct)

Which perpetual rebuilding team is closest to the playoffs? Padres, Tigers, marlins, Blue Jays, or someone else?
