I suspect Didi would absolutely accept a QO if one is issued, so I guess it depends on whether or not the Phils would be okay with paying him such a hefty one-year deal
Virtual Reality
9:08
I read in an article that someone had an idea to sell VR tickets for fans to games. Do you think that could catch on long term?
Mark P
9:08
This sounds like the start of a Black Mirror episode
Rivalrys
9:09
What is your favorite rivalry in sports?
Mark P
9:09
Federer vs. Nadal vs. Djokovic
Bryan

So how will the loss of money this season affect free agent salary's this winter?
Mark P
9:11
Free agent spending will surely be down across the board.  Top guys like Mookie Betts will still get hefty contracts, though not nearly as hefty as they would've been under normal circumstances.  The real hit will come to the second tier of free agents.

How in your mind are players who are not in the Hall of Fame that should be?
Mark P
9:12
Lou Whitaker, Gil Hodges, Fred McGriff all leap to mind immediately.  And, of course, Bonds and Clemens.
Gavin Lux
9:13
Where do I line up long term? Do I stay at second or do the Dodgers move Seager to make room at short?
Mark P
9:14
The Dodgers like to create as much positional flexibility as possible, and with Lux now at the MLB level, it gives L.A. another option if they choose to part ways with Justin Turner.  Lux could go to short and Seager to 3B, conceivably.

Damn I miss baseball.

You and me both
A mute point
9:16
As much as I want baseball, how depressing and anticlimactic would a World Series without fans be for you?
Mark P
9:18
I actually don't think it be much of an adjustment.  I've watched amateur (or even rec league) games without many or any fans around, yet that doesn't diminish the intensity of the on-field play or make it any less watchable.  It would be weird to see fan-free MLB games at first, no doubt, but I think I'd get used to it pretty quickly

Field of Dreams or Bull Durham?
Mark P
9:19
Am I about to lose all credibility as a baseball writer by admitting that I've never seen all of Bull Durham?  I've seen a few scenes here and there, and of course I know the overall story, though I've never actually seen the film.

In your opinion, will Realmuto sign an extension with the Phils???
Mark P
9:21
My hunch is yes, since it seemed like the two sides had mutual interest in a new contract.  And, Realmuto might be even more amenable to an extension given how uncertain free agency might be --- granted, he's a big enough star that he'd still definitely get a nice payday.  But assuming the Phillies offer him something in his acceptable salary range, Realmuto might prefer to just stick in a familiar situation
Russell Martin
9:22
Where do I end up? To my native Canada with my boy Ryu?
Mark P
9:23
The Jays aren't really in need of any catching depth.  If the season is canceled, Martin (and a lot of other veteran players nearing the end of their careers) might just opt to officially retire rather than try to land a job in 2021
Cautious
9:23
We all want baseball to return. We need to be overly cautious and very protective of our players, staff, and their families. If waiting an extra few weeks to a month is well worth it. Be safe!!
Mark P
9:25
For all the discussions about what a 2020 season could look like, safety has been the absolute top concern of all parties involved.  There's no point in launching a season and then having to shutter it immediately if multiple people get sick.
John
9:25
With the uncertainly of free agency, do you see any way that the Indians can hang on to Lindor?
Mark P
9:26
Lindor isn't a free agent until after the 2021 season, first of all.  It's possible his trade market could be even more heated, as teams could prefer to trade for a star player who is only a salary concern for one year rather than sign someone to a multi-year free agent contract.
9:27
But in short, I don't think there's any way Lindor remains with the Tribe
7 inning DH
9:28
Let's assume that the league starts and has 7 inning double headers, if a starting pitcher throws a perfect game/no hitter does it still count?
Mark P
9:29
The MLB rules clearly state that an official no-hitter/perfect game has to be at least nine innings long
Kershaw
9:29
Do I get my long awaited ring before I retire?
Mark P
9:31
The Dodgers are built to contend for the foreseeable future, so Kershaw should have several more chances to win a title if he remains in L.A. (his contract is up after the 2021 season)
Divison mixup
9:31
Do you like the idea of changing the divisions based on spring training region?
Mark P
9:33
Into a total "Eastern Division" and "Western Division" going forward, even in normal seasons?  Not really.
No one likes tomatos
9:36
jose Ramirez and Carlos Santana for robles kieboom and Garcia who says no
Mark P
9:36
First of all, I love tomatoes.
Second of all, Washington would say no.  Santana is only controlled through 2021.
Twins fan
9:38
Will Boston just get away with the alleged cheating? It would surely be bad form to welcome everyone back to live sports by reminding them of a cheating scandal, if MLB decides to announce suspension as soon as they get a green light
Mark P
9:38
They're not to "get away" with it, some punishment will be leveled.  (Though it was widely expected that the Red Sox would face a lesser punishment than what Houston received.)
Mikey from Cali

Couple of other guys who should be in the Hall in my mind: Bobby Grich (one of the most underrated players ever) and Buddy Bell.
Mark P
9:39
Forgot about Grich, I agree he should be in Cooperstown
Tommy John's #2 client
9:39
Are the Rangers the most underrated team in the game?
Mark P
9:40
They've got a lot of question marks on the roster, though I generally liked what they did in the offseason pitching-wise.
