Saturday night's all right for chatting!  Let's get to your questions....
Andy H
8:18
When will we see the schedule?
Mark P
8:18
Probably not at least for another week, as per the latest reports: https://nypost.com/2020/06/27/yankees-nationals-gerrit-coles-debut-to-...
Dave Roberts
8:19
Now that the season is 60 games and there shouldn’t be any worry about innings limits for young guys, does Dustin May become my #5 starter over Alex Wood?
Mark P
8:20
Wouldn't shock me if the Dodgers went with a six-man rotation, like other teams will do during this season while everyone gets their arm strength back.  Six-man rotations, piggyback starters, openers and bulk pitchers....all options will be on the table, and the Dodgers have the pitching depth to be creative

Hi Mark, I recently saw something that suggested teams would face their division 10 times and the corresponding teams in the other league 4 times each.  How does this work for the AL West?
Mark P
8:21
It means some extra travel for the Astros and Rangers
Harry
8:22
Should I panic that the Jays haven’t signed 2 of their picks ?
Mark P
8:22
Since there's still three weeks until the signing deadline, no.
Cody
8:23
Thoughts on the Cardinals Edwin Nunez signing?
Mark P
8:23
Seems like a heck of a live arm for an 18-year-old, and worth a $525K investment.
Jack
8:24
Hey Mark, what did Joe Boyle sign for today?
Mark P
8:25
No details yet on Boyle's bonus, though his draft slot is $382.7K
Kevin B
8:25
Colorado's internal metrics still have them winning 94 games. Do you take the over or the under?
Mark P
8:26
This made me actually laugh out loud, well done.

I'll take the under
Steven
8:26
Kevin Cron/JD Davis for breakout player.
Mark P
8:27
I feel like JD Davis already broke out last year, but you're right about Cron.  Lot of potential there as Arizona's favorite for the DH job
Guest
8:27
Do the cubs have a chance to win it all?
Mark P
8:28
Sure.  Lot of talent on that team, and really, just about any club in baseball has a chance given the small sample size of a 60-game season.
Barney
8:30
Do you think that the Cubs will have more night games?  More people can watch at night, and there will be far less of a parking/traffic situation near Wrigley Field.
Mark P
8:30
I strongly doubt fans will be allowed to attend games, so it'll be a moot point as far as parking goes

Please tell me you think the DH isn’t here to stay in the NL...
Mark P
8:31
I could see pitchers getting one last chance at the plate in 2021 maybe, but once the new CBA is finalized (in 2022, let's hope), I expect the universal DH to be here to stay
Baileyman
8:32
Jays...Dunedin or Toronto.....personally I prefer Dunedin but Covid is a real huge factor....your thoughts?
Mark P
8:32
I'd guess that something is worked out with the federal and provincial government to allow the Jays to play in Toronto, and other teams to be allowed to cross the border without a two-week quarantine.
Joe Gatto
8:33
Wait so you are saying that the Os could shock the world and win the world series this year?
Mark P
8:33
Well, stranger things have happ......

No, actually, a 2020 Orioles World Series actually would be the strangest thing that has ever happened in baseball.
DGul25
8:34
If Ohtani is able to stay healthy and both pitch and hit this season....do you think he can surprise everyone and beat Trout for a MVP? Can anyone really stop Trout?
Mark P
8:35
Speaking of a small sample size, just about anyone could contend for an MVP or Cy Young this year.  A player only needs to get really hot for a few weeks to boost those numbers.
Elliott
8:35
Any thoughts or insights on whether the Phillies will try to lock up JT Realmuto before the start of play?
Mark P
8:36
I'm sure they'll have some negotiations, though who knows what the Phils' financial mindset is, or if JTR is any more or less likely to take an extension given all that has happened over the last few months.
8:37
Realmuto is elite enough that he'll still get a very nice free agent deal this winter, assuming he stays healthy and performs well in 2020.
Joe Gatto
8:38
Will the same rule of runner being place in 2nd base in extra inning continue into the playoff?
Mark P
8:38
Nope.  Playoff games will be decided by regular extra innings.
Jacob
8:38
Does Puig sign before opening day and If so, where?
Mark P
8:40
My guess is he ends up on the Giants, since they're the ones who had been linked to him in rumors
Estevao
8:41
With the way things are going a Dodgers x Yankees World Series seems virtually inevitable somewhere over the next decade+ right. At least as inevitable as anything can be when it comes to playoff baseball
Mark P
8:41
Baseball is unpredictable.  One would have thought a Dodgers/Yankees Series would have happened at least once over the last decade given how both teams are such frequent playoff contenders, but no dice.  We haven't seen that matchup in October since all the way back in 1981.
Pad Squad
8:42
Any predictions for Mookie's contract and suitor? Will it have to be heavily deferred, ya think?
Mark P
8:44
Deferrals are a possibility, or potentially a player opt-out after the first season or two if Betts wants the option of re-entering free agency in a more normal marketplace.

Dodgers are the obvious favorite.  Maybe the Giants, Blue Jays, Rangers, though the question for these and many other teams is just how much money will be available after a short-revenue season.  Maybe if a new Mets owner is in place by next winter, they'll want to make a splash.
