Hi everyone, the Sunday chat is back after a week's hiatus.  Last week was a no-go due to a deluge of news and roster moves from around baseball, but now we're back at it!

He never got above high-A ball last season, so I'd still be kind of surprised to see him debut this year, despite how the Rays are usually aggressive with promotions.  I can't entirely rule it out since all normalcy is out the window in 2020, but Tampa might not want to start his clock this early

In terms of pure volume of moves, I think we'll still see a fair amount of trades, but perhaps lower-level stuff moreso than big blockbusters

I think today's Stanton IL news is a reason why the Yankees have held onto those guys.  Between his injuries, Hicks' recovery, and Gardner turning 37 in a couple of weeks, I'd want as much depth as possible if I'm the Yankees

He was in their system for three years, so it's hard to say they didn't give him a good look.  Basabe is still only 23, but it could be that the Sox simply don't think he'll ever develop into a big league hitter

Blisters have to be just about the most irritating injuries for both players and fans.  They're seemingly so minor, yet they totally throw off how a pitcher can hold or control the ball.

How do the Cards make up these games? They can only play so many double headers. Will really take a toll on pitching.

I'm hard-pressed to see how they can complete all 60 games in the current schedule window.  I think the league will have to just outright cancel some games, or judge the Cards based only on winning percentage.
That's assuming the Cardinals play a reasonable amount of games, of course.  If they can't play any more than, say, maybe 50, I can see other teams being naturally upset if the Cards were to somehow squeak into a playoff spot

Lamb hasn't done much of anything since he got hurt in 2018, and I'm a bit surprised the D'Backs still tendered him a contract.

Vlad's swing has looked totally out of sorts thus far.  Not sure if it's just because he's getting settled in or what, but the early returns for both him and basically everyone in the Jays lineup haven't been good

On a recent chat with the Toronto media, Austin Martin said when asked by a Vandy teammate where he wanted to be drafted, he told the teammate that he wanted to be drafted by either Miami (he is from Florida) or Toronto ( a former teammate told him how great the Toronto system was) would this explain why Martin fell to fifth, I think it was expected that Detroit would take Torkelson but that does not explain Baltimore, KC passing on him? Thoughts?

The O's had a plan to spread their bonus pool money around, so they took a lesser-regarded guy in Kjerstad.  As for the Marlins and KC, I guess they simply liked Meyer and Lacy more.

Seems like injury rates (excluding COVID) are higher than normal so far (although I’d love to see some statistics to prove me wrong).  If that is the case, does it say the shortened “summer camp” is bad for the players health and reinforces longer spring training has been the best for players health all along?

As much as players may grumble about the length and monotony of Spring Training, every single pitcher (and many hitters) will say they need that time to knock off the rust

Do you think MLB goes to some sort of a bubble for the post season?  If they do go to the bubble, there aren't any advantages for the teams that win the most games.

How’s it going to work if a team has a Covid outbreak in the playoffs?  Wouldn’t they have to shut down for a week or two as a result?  Could the World Series be played on thanksgiving?
